It Costs Apple $236 to Produce One iPhone 6s Plus Unit - IHS



A new teardown performed by IHS experts has revealed that Apple spends about $236 on the production of the 16GB iPhone 6s Plus. In particular, the component costs are equal to $231.50 and the money spent on the assembly of the device make $4.50. This year’s flagship device is $16 more expensive to produce that its predecessor, the iPhone 6 Plus. The component costs are a bit higher this year as Apple has added a number of new components to the device, namely, the 7000 aluminum, 3D Touch display and Taptic Engine.

Apple Releases Second OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan Beta to Developers



Apple has recently seeded the second beta of OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan to developers for testing. The release came nearly a week after the release of the very first OS X 10.11.1 beta and one day before the official public release of OS X 10.11, which is scheduled for September 30th.

Apple to Sell 18 Million Apple Watch Units by the End of 2015, New Model to Come in Mid-2016



According to the latest report from a research firm Cowen and Company, by the end of this year, Apple will sell as many as 18 million Apple Watch units. Next year, the analysts expect Apple to ship 45 million smartwatch units.

A9 Chips from Samsung and TSMC Are Different in Size - Chipworks



As you know, Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus feature a brand new A9 processor. This processor is manufactured by two separate companies, namely, Samsung and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company. The first vendor uses a 14-nanometer manufacturing process, while the second one fabricates the chips using a 16-nanometer process.

iPhone 7 to Be Waterproof and Dustproof - Rumor



According to the latest report from usually-reliable website Macotakara, the next-generation iPhone will be waterproof and dustproof. This device, called presumably the iPhone 7, will also feature a non-metallic frame and a new LCD. What’s even more interesting is that Apple has already created a prototype. It appears that the recently-released iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are the last Apple handsets that feature the aluminum body.

iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus Placed Underwater for One Hour [Video]



A new and a very interesting video has recently appeared on the Internet. It shows the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus undergoing water resistance test. Although new handsets are not water-resistant officially, looks like Apple has improved something to make them survive when dropped in the sink.

Following the release of iOS 9.0.1 with a wide number of bug fixes and stability improvements to users worldwide, Apple has just seeded the second beta of iOS 9.1 to developers.
