Last year at least 11 fifteen-year-old children were working in 3 factories that supply Apple. They are situated in China, but Apple also has factories situated in Taiwan, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Czech Republic, Thailand and of course United States.

Cupertino's company claims children are no longer used for work or at least they are no longer underage:

"In each of the three facilities, we required a review of all employment records for the year as well as a complete analysis of the hiring process to clarify how underage people had been able to gain employment".

This is a citation from Cupertino's Supplier Responsibility 2010 Progress Report. After studying of it we summed up a whole bunch of interesting facts...

1. Last week 62 workers at the Apple's factory were poisoned by toxic chemical named n-hexane. It can cause blur eyesight and muscular degeneration. Though plant owner Wintek claim almost every worker got back at work, Apple hasn't yet commented on these problems at the plant.
2. Report says there are at least 55 of 102 plants that produce goods for Apple and  ignore its rule of 60-hour(!) week for workers.
3. One of Apple's factories used child labour and concealed this fact for a long time. Apple said they had terminated any partnership with this factory.
4. Only 65% of the factories staff has correct wages and benefits. At least 24 plants have workers with a wage lower than a minimum one (800 Yuan or 76 pounds).
5. Only 61% of Apple's suppliers were following special rules to prevent injuries at the workplace and 57% of factories had the correct environmental permits to operate. It came to light when 3 plants were discovered to be shipping hazardous waste to unqualified disposal companies.

Though it looks like Apple tries its best to deal with problems at factories, they haven’t stopped using it.
