Apple Continues Hiring Automotive Industry Experts

Looks like the guys from Cupertino haven’t given up the idea of creating their own electric car. According to the latest report from The Wall Street Journal, Apple has recently hired former Chrysler executive, or, to be more precise, the Senior Vice President of the Chrysler Group Doug Betts. His LinkedIn page shows that he’s now working at Apple in the San Francisco Bay Area. However, no other details about this new hire have been shared by Apple or the Cupertino-based company.

Betts' LinkedIn profile suggests he made major customer satisfaction improvements and warranty cost reductions during his tenure at Chrysler, with job duties that included quality engineering, field issue problem solving, manufacturing operations, and supplier quality, among other tasks.

Before working at Apple and Chrysler, Betts was the employee at a number of other automotive companies including Nissan, Toyota and Michelin.

In case you don’t know, earlier this year Apple reportedly began the development of their own electric car codenamed Titan. Its design and specs remain unknown. As to the release of the vehicle, it is scheduled to take place in 2020. Can’t wait to see this new product manufactured by Apple.
