Today analytics firm DisplaySearch ^[2] published its estimations of mobile PC sales for the 2Q 2011. The research counts both tablets and notebooks, and Apple managed to outpace all its rivals with 21.1% of the market share. The company easily passed (by nearly 4 million units) second-place HP, which has 15% share with 9.7 million units shipped.

The report also pointed out that Samsung and Dell show year-over-year grow in shipment of notebook PCs, but Apple’s iPad growth outstrip their performance with shipments that double from year to year.

On the tablet market, shipments of non-Apple tablets increased to 5.6 million for the quarter, but most manufacturers reportedly have difficulties in converting them into actual sales. Generally, shipments of tablets increased by 70% quarter by quarter and 400% year by year.
