Apple Launched iPhone 4S in 22 New Countries

Apple's online store in Sweden

Yesterday Apple launched the iPhone 4S in 22 additional countries, starting the second wave of launches for the new iPhone model. Last week the company began to take pre-orders ahead of the release planned for Austria, Ireland, Spain, Slovenia, Slovakia, Singapore, Norway, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Denmark, Belgium, Mexico, Luxembourg, Latvia, Italy, Sweden, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Hungary, Estonia and Finland.

Apple does not offer sales through online stores in all of the new markets so customers wanting to purchase models on contract cannot buy it online. Currently Apple is quoting shipping times of 1-2 weeks for unlocked iPhone 4S in almost all of the new countries. The only exception is online store in Singapore where all iPhone 4S versions are listed as unavailable. Demand for the new iPhone is very high in this country with report noting that carrier Singtel sold all appointment slots to buy iPhone 4S within 1,5 hours after opening registration website earlier this week.
