Apple Plans To Produce Devices With Curved Glass In Early 2012

Sources close to Apple’s supply and manufacturing chain (via DigiTimes) say that Apple and other companies from “non-Apple camp” are preparing to manufacture devices with curved glass, mainly touchscreens, in the beginning of 2012.

"Apple reportedly also has bought glass polishing equipment for its suppliers in preparation for the production of devices fitted with curved cover glass”.

Also sources claim that Lens Technology, G-Tech and Fuji Crystal are main Apple’s suppliers of cover glass. While Fuji and Lens supply for iPhone, G-Tech focuses mainly on iPad.

According to the publication, other companies are working on cover glass production to gain the competitive advantage on the handheld device market where Apple's iPad and iPhone dominate. Also it was reported that Apple is going to furnish its retail stores and new spaceship campus with curved glass.
