Ahead of today’s iOS 5 launch, Apple released the rumored AirPort Utility app that allows you to manage your AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule base station and Wi-Fi network right from your iOS device. The app also includes some advanced capabilities that let you effectively manage your base station and networks.

The app is provided in the form of universal binary that supports both iPod touch/iPhone and iPad’s bigger screen.

This app provide you with a nice visual overview of your wireless network and base station. Also you can get a better picture by pinch-zooming, which is possible only on iPad. To receive the detailed network information, just tap an object. Also this utility allows you to update firmware on your base stations.

Note that the app requires iOS 5. You can download the AirPort Utility from your iOS device or by using this link [2] to download the app from the App Store.
