Apple to Introduce Dual-lens Optical Image Stabilization System Next Year

According to the latest report from Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is planning to bring the optical image stabilization system to both lenses of the dual camera on the iPhone 8 Plus or whatever the device is called. Currently, only the wide-angle lens of the iPhone 7 Plus has optical stabilization. As noted by the analyst, the company will redesign the camera to integrate a new OIS system.

Here’s what Kuo writes:

We believe Apple will add OIS function to the telephoto CCM in order to enhance the selling points of next year’s new iPhone. We think photo quality and optical zoom range may both improve as a result.

Apple is expected to unveil three iPhones in 2017. Two models will feature LCD displays, whereas one model will get a brand new OLED screen manufactured by Samsung. The updated iPhone may be constrained at launch due to limited production capacity of the OLED panels supplier.
