Cult of Mac reports on information received from the “well-placed” source who has seen a prototype of the future Apple TV set. The source claims the device is similar to the current 27-inch Thunderbold display, but it is “much larger”.

The prototype reportedly includes iSight camera, which allows users to make FaceTime calls via the TV set and video calls are initiated by Siri. Addressing the fact that people usually sit  farther away from the TV set than they do from their mobile devices and computers, the source said that the built-in iSight camera will be able to detect, track and zoom in on their faces, even if they move around the room.

In recent months Apple has reportedly worked with component suppliers on its plans for the TV set. As for the possible launch period, the debates as to whether this product will be ready for release by this year, 2013 or even 2014 continue.
