Apple Watch to Get Thicker Battery, Thinner LCD [Video]

A new video has recently appeared on the Internet showing what appears to be a thinner display for the upcoming Apple Watch 2 and a slightly thicker battery for the device. The video comes from a site called Byte.co.uk and is available below.

Last week, the same site leaked photos of the LCD & touch screen digitizer, Force Touch gasket, and battery for the Apple Watch 2. Now they are back with a new video posted to YouTube that purportedly reveals the internal housing and spacer ring for the device.

As to the exact measurements, the LCD is only 2.86mm thick, which is much thinner than the first-generation Apple Watch LCD with a thickness of 3.57mm. The battery is thicker than the battery found in the original Apple Watch, 5.11mm compared to 3.95mm. Apart from other things, the new battery is more powerful.

Apple may unveil the updated Apple Watch 2 alongside the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at a media event later today. Stay tuned for more updates.
