Apple’s 2012 annual report: more employees, sales and spaces





Today Apple has filed its annual report for 2012 with the SEC that revealed a slew of interesting facts.

According to the filings, Apple now has 72,800 full-time employees (compared to 60,400 last year), 390 stores (up 33 from the last year) and makes $51.5 million per store (up 8.2 million from the year prior). Now the company leases or owns 17.3 million sq. ft. of building space (up from 13.2 million the last year) and spent $9.5B on tooling and manufacturing during the 2012 fiscal year. In 2013, Apple plans to open 30-35 additional stores, with 75% of those being outside the US.
