Gifting Apps in AppStore now available

Gifting Apps in AppStore now available (gifting 399x207)

Apple just announced that iTunes users now have the ability to gift apps to one another. The process is quite simple, like gifting a song – all you have to do is click the ‘gift app’ button. You must use your credit card on the account and cannot use gift cards or any other types of promotional payment to gift apps.

If you want to use this feature you have to sign into your iTunes account and accept the new terms policy.

From Apple:

The changes we have made to the terms and conditions include the following:

• The “Gifts” section of the iTunes Store Terms of Sale have been changed to clarify that Gifts may not be used for in-app purchases, in-app subscriptions, upgrades, or the iPod touch OS, and to explain that some gifts require compatible hardware and parental control settings so they can be redeemed.

• A new “Gifts” section has been added to the App Store Terms and Conditions explaining the conditions under which Apps can be gifted, including an explanation that Gifts may not be used for in-app purchases, in-app subscriptions, upgrades or the iPod touch OS, and to explain that some gifts require compatible hardware and parental control settings so they can be redeemed.”
