Apple.pro published scans ^[2] of a story that appeared in Chinese newspaper Apple Daily. That publication got one of many enclosures for “iPhone 5”, which have been available during the past few weeks, and measured it.

The thickness of the “iPhone 5” enclosure was measured in at 7.6 mm. Other dimensions are equivalent to specifications leaked by case makers in June: 58.47 mm in width, 123.83 mm in height, and 4-inch display.

The iPhone 4S is 9.3 mm in depth, so we might expect that the next iPhone will be 18% thinner. The new iPhone is also expected to have about the same width as the iPhone 4S, but its height will increase to accommodate 4" diagonal screen.
