iPhone Market Share and Sales Continue to Grow - Gartner





According to the latest report from a research firm Gartner, global iPhone sales grew 36% year-on-year. Quite obviously, the market share grew as well if to compare with the same quarter of the last year. As noted by the analysts, iPhone market share in the second quarter of this year was equal to 14.6%. That’s a 2.4% improvement in contrast with the Q2 2014. The guys from Cupertino managed to sell more than 48 million iPhones over the past couple of months.

Apple’s main rival, Samsung, saw a decrease in sales and market share. Still, the South Korean company remains the main smartphone manufacturer in the world with the market share of 21.9% and more that 72 million devices sold to customers in the second quarter of 2015. Huawei and Xiaomi continued to gain popularity.

New data from Gartner suggests that iPhone sales grew 36% year-on-year, while Samsung’s sales fell 5.3% in the same period. Apple’s market share climbed from 12.2% in Q2 2014 to 14.6% in the same quarter this year. Other winners were Chinese brands Huawei and Xiaomi.

Apple is expected to unveil two new smartphones, namely, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus this September. These handsets may become popular among the customers as well.
