iPhone to Get Glass Body, Wireless Charging, New Biometric Sensors and AMOLED Display in 2017

According to the latest report from usually-reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will make the 2017 iPhone completely different from its predecessor, the iPhone 7. The expert believes that the company will equip its new phone with a glass body similar to the one iPhone 4 had and an AMOLED display.

Apple is reportedly choosing whether to use plastic, glass or ceramic for the new flagship device body and currently glass has the best chances to win the competition due to its qualities missing from plastic and ceramic. Not only the casing materials will change, but the design and feel of the handset as well.

The 2017 iPhone is said to have a curved display and a curved glass body. Building on the iPhone 4 design, both the front and back will be glass and the sides will be metal, says Kuo. Additionally, it will reportedly feature a “completely new form factor design” with more narrow bezels and a “more comfortably grip.”

Kuo also believes Apple will release the 5.8-inch iPhone model with the AMOLED screen that can possibly replace the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus.

Apart from design changes and new displays, the next-generation iPhone may get wireless charging capabilities and new biometric sensors.
