Even though there are several unofficial apps available in the App Store allowing you to access content found in the Khan Academy, the education portal has released an official app for iPad. The app is available for free at App Store and it provides access to more than 2,700 educational videos covering many different subjects from finance and history, to science and K-12 math.

The main difference between the new app and unofficial apps is that now you can login to your account in Khan Academy, obtain credits for watching videos, and track your achievements and goals through the app. Also the app provides videos with subtitles that can be browsed and allows you to download playlists and videos for offline viewing. Reportedly, the app also can sync progress across various devices.

The app doesn’t yet provide exercises offered at KhanAcademy.org to accompany the videos, but the educational portal promises that they are “coming soon”.
