Lion's Migration Assistant Allows PC Users To Switch To Mac

If you're thinking to switch from your Windows PC to Mac after all this buzz around new Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, Apple prepared a great solution for you in a new version of Migration Assistant.

Basically Migration Assistant was created to help Mac users in migrating from their old machine to a new one. They just needed to convert their old Mac via FireWire Target Disk Mode into a hard drive and then import data, settings and files on the new machine via Migration Assistant.

But some iMacs and MacBooks don't support FireWire no more, so Apple decided that it would be easier to connect the old machine to a new one via an ethernet cable and use Migration Assistant for the same task, and eventually that was implemented in the Lion's version of the app. But it is interesting that it is also able to pull the data from Windows-based computer as well. The user is only required to install a MigrationAssistantSetup.exe program that acts as a client for Migration Assistant on a new Mac machine.
