According to The Korea Times report, Samsung and Apple relationship continues to deteriorate with Samsung wanting to terminate its deal with Apple and cease supplying liquid crystal display (LCD) to the company next year. Senior Samsung source said:

“We are unable to supply our flat-screens to Apple with huge price discounts. Samsung has already cut our portion of shipments to Apple and next year we will stop shipping displays”.

Reportedly Samsung shipped about 15 million flat-screen displays to Apple in the first half of this year. In the third quarter Samsung produced 3 million panels to Apple and is expected to ship only 1,5 million displays in the fourth quarter as Apple continues its shift to other suppliers.

Samsung is reportedly not producing LCD displays for the iPad mini, with AU Optronics and LG Display said to be supplying components for the smaller iPad.
