Sapphire Display for iPhone 6 Won't Be Ready in Time?

According to what people familiar with the matter say, Apple’s suppliers have encountered some manufacturing difficulties connected with the production of sapphire-covered screens for the upcoming iPhone 6. What this means is that the guys from Cupertino won’t release the handset with the screen made of new strong material in September. Looks like we shall see another delay.

Downstream component makers would have had to begin shipping the sapphire display covers to Apple's assembly partners in June to meet the company's September deadline, market research firm TrendForce said, but those shipments have not yet appeared. This is likely to point to either a delayed or seriously constrained release for a sapphire-covered iPhone, the firm argues.

Earlier it was reported that the guys from Cupertino are planning to release the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 with a sapphire-covered display in the mid-September. As is turns out now, both 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch handsets may hit the store shelves at the very end of 2014.
