iPad Apps Are More Expensive

appstorepricing

Obviously, the iPad apps are more expensive than those for the iPhone/iPod touch. But you probably don’t know that their prices increased in the past six months. The average price for the iPad app increased from $4.34 in April 2010 to $4.97 in October 2010 (+14.5%). Prices for the iPhone apps increased only from $3.94 to $4.03 (+2.3%). Although iPhone apps cost less than their iPad counterparts, the iPad only accounts for 13% of the total 300,000 apps available in the App Store, and just 7 percent of all apps are universal.

Initially iWork '11 was planed to be launched alongside iLife '11 last month and its release was held back at the last moment for unknown reasons. Now Apple is planning to launch the new productivity suite alongside the forthcoming Mac App Store. The application will include Pages, Numbers and Keynote bundles, which may be available for purchase exclusively through the Mac App Store for $19.99 each, below Apple's current $79 price for the complete retail box suite.

The Mac App Store should debut on January 18th, 2011. Last week the company began accepting submissions from developers who would like to include their applications in the Mac App Store. Developers will take a 70 percent cut of sales, while Apple will retain 30 percent.

Just like Frank, who used multiple iPhones to coordinate and secretly film his proposal. On October 24 he proposed to his girlfriend Kasey. An elaborate surprise proposal was made in New York City's Central Park. Hidden cameras were synced with special iPhone applications so the entire event could be watched from a safe distance. Kasey was lured to a specific location by a friend of Frank. It was a totally awesome proposal and, of course, Kasey said "yes".

iOS 4.2 for iPad already Jailbroken

ios for ipad

It seams that hackers have had their hands on the iOS 4.2 beta 3 for iPad. But, as we know, there is no official jailbreak for it. Recently the well-known iOS hacker posted aт interesting picture in Tweeter. The shot depicts an iPad running MobileTerminal, a jailbreak application, which gives users full access to the terminal command line interface. But it looks strange, because it means that the hackers missed the beta 4, which should be released this past Tuesday, according to the Apple’s schedule. This could signal that Apple may skip beta 4 altogether and go straight to a GM build sometime next week.

Walt Mossberg has reviewed new MacBook Airs

Famous technology journalist Walt Mossberg published another review where he analyzes new MacBook Air notebooks and describes them as "gorgeous, very thin and light, but very sturdy aluminum computers".

After using notebooks for some time he made a conclusion that the 11.6-inch system is very iPad-like, the battery life of the devices is "strong" and the systems wake up from sleep every time almost instantly. Though such machines won't fit as primary computers, especially for power users, they should fit fine for light-duty users. Walt revealed that even the $999 model can run 7-8 programs at the same time, even if there are iTunes, Safari Web browser with couple of dozens of apps opened and Microsoft Office among them.
