Samsung Plans to Launch Apple Pay Competitor in 2015?



According to the latest reports from reliable sources, Samsung is currently in talks with LoopPay, a company, which has recently developed a new payments method to launch Apple Pay competitor in 2015. This method uses a technology different from NFC utilized in Google Wallet or Apple Pay and that is an advantage, I guess, as not all the smartphones on the market can boast of the support of NFC.

Walmart Refuses to Support Apple Pay, Working on Its Own Payments Service



Walmart, one of the largest U.S. retailers, has refused to support Apple Pay. According to what the reliable sources from Re/code claim, the reason for the refusal is high credit card transaction fee. This reason for refusal is closely connected with another one. You see, Walmart belongs to a consortium of the most influential retailers called Merchant Customer Exchange (MCX); its members plan to create their own mobile payments system called CurrentC. This system is expected to boast of lower transaction fees; its launch may take place as soon as early 2015.

Apple releases iOS 8.1. What's new?



Just as Apple announced at its iPad & Mac event last Thursday, iOS 8.1 is now publicly available with new features including Apple Pay, iCloud Photo Library, and additional Continuity features. Apple Pay is available for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users for making payments for purchases with the new iPhone rather than a physical credit card in supported retail stores and apps; iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 users will be able to use Apple Pay within supported apps as well. In addition to iOS 8.1, Apple also released version 7.0.1 for third-generation Apple TV boxes.

Apple Releases Safari 7.0.3 and Safari 6.1.3 to Developers for Testing



Looks like the guys from Cupertino work hard to release new versions of their software as soon as possible. Following the yesterday’s release of OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 and iTunes 11.1.6, Apple today seeded Safari 7.0.3 for OS X Mavericks and Safari 6.1.3 for OS X Mountain Lion and OS X Lion to developers for testing purposes.

Apple to Start Working on Its Own Payment Service?



According to recent rumors, the company from Cupertino is currently planning to develop its own mobile payment service. Taking into account the fact that most of the iTunes Store accounts already have credit cards attached to them, a new payment method can become a convenient way to conduct financial transactions between customers and Apple.

iOS 7 Malicious Charger Exploit Patched



Earlier this year - in June - a new iOS flaw was discovered that theoretically made it possible to hack your device with the help of a malicious USB charger. A group of developers, who were the first to find this breach, has successfully installed malware on a non-jailbroken iPad and iPhone to prove their theory.

How to use iTunes Radio outside of the US



As you might know Apple launched iTunes Radio only for the US. This service will be available in other countries, but some time later.

However there is a way to enable it outside the US now. All you need is to create US iTunes account and iTunes Radio will show up in iTunes upon re-launch. We’re not sure if this easy ‘hack’ will make it to Gold Master but Radio might be in your country by then anyway.

Publishing Company Blue Toad Admits “FBI” UDIDs Were Stolen From Its Servers

Last week a hacker group released around 1 million UDIDs from iOS devices. The group said that they stole the list from the FBI, but a day later the law enforcement organization rejected this claim.

Now NBC News reports that Blue Toad, small Florida company that develops apps for App Store, said that UDIDs were stolen from its servers. The report notes:
