New Angry Birds Star Wars to Come July 15



Last Friday Rovio announced a new game. Well, personally I believe that won’t be something entirely new since this studio has only one product, which is truly famous and it’s called Angry Birds. Yes, I know about Amazing Alex and The Croods as well as about other apps created by Rovio, but come on, do you really believe they can be like Angry Birds called world’s game #1? Apple and Google are getting on better



Google and Apple seems to be improving their relationship. It is proved by Google's chairman Eric Schmidt, who says : "These are two proud, well-run, different companies."

Apple and Google met on Allen and Company Sun Valley Conference where tech moguls meet every year. In fact, the two companies have always been quite close as the CEOs, Eric Schmidt and Steve Jobs knew each other for years. Eric Schmidt was even one of Apple’s directors, before Android OS was launched and they competition with Apple began.

Apple's New Microsoft 365 and Google Docs Rival



Rejoice all those who don’t like neither Google Docs, nor Microsoft Office 365 as a few days ago their new rival was born. Announced in June at WWDC, this rival is a purely new cloud-based iWork version. Well, actually, this is still only a beta and at the moment it is available only for Apple developers. However, what that means is that the relatively short-term Google-Microsoft domination in the sphere of cloud editing tools might be soon over.

The surreal beauty of some Apple Maps glitches



Peder Norrby, founder of the Swedish computer graphics company Trapdoor, has created a Flickr collection of some artistic and spectacular effects created by automated attempts to map 2D imagery onto 3D topology models in Apple Maps.

Of course, Apple Maps are not alone in some of the more … interesting results. Google Maps also have similar effects caused by the same issue: automated integration of 2D and 3D data without human vetting.

Google Employee Said That Google Now Does Not Drain Battery Life



After Google Search app was updated with the Google Now service last week, many users began reporting that the app was draining iPhone’s battery by constantly accessing Location Services.

Today Google employee posted on the Macworld forum saying that Google Now service does not excessively drain battery.

Swype VP Confirms Discussions With Apple On Its Keyboard Technology



Earlier this week highly popular Swype keyboard become available for users of Android devices on Google Play, but only after the release of Jelly Bean with the built-in Swipe-like Gesture Typing functionality.

While it is known that Swype owner Nuance has a tight relationship with Apple through the Siri's voice recognition technology, a Swype executive has now confirmed that its company has had conversation with Apple over its keyboard technology. The Vice President Of Swype Aaron Sheedy said at Reddit AMA:

Today App Annie published its latest data on mobile app downloads, noting that continued momentum for Android apps has allowed Google Play to nearly match iOS App Store in download volume. However, while Google Play is making significant strides in generating profits for developers from app downloads, the App Store retained its strong lead in monetization, indicating that, in general, iOS device users remain more willing to pay for apps than Android users.
