Apple TV to Be Updated with New Processor, Siri and More This Year





According to what people familiar with the matter write, at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference scheduled for June, the guys from Cupertino plan to announce a new Apple TV set-top box. The new media device will reportedly boast of Apple’s A8 processor and a big amount of internal storage. Apart from that, the sources claim Apple will add Siri to its next-generation set-top box and create a special App Store version with applications for Apple TV. SDK for developers to create apps will become available this summer as well.

Apple Got 50% of U.S. Smartphone Sales in Q4 2014 - Analysts



According to the latest report released by a research firm Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), Apple managed to get 50% of the smartphone sales in the USA in the calendar quarter ending in December. In other words, half of the handsets sold on the territory of the United States over the last few months are Apple's iPhones.

Apple Pay Now Works with 15 New Banks - Apple

Samsung Customers Are More Satisfied with Their Smartphones than Apple Customers



According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index, Samsung users are more satisfied with their gadgets than Apple users. In particular, the satisfaction rate grew 6.6% over the last 12 months to 81%. If to speak about Apple, it saw a 2.5% decrease in customer satisfaction in 2014. “Only” 79% of users are fully satisfied with their iPhones.

Apple releases iOS 8.1. What's new?



Just as Apple announced at its iPad & Mac event last Thursday, iOS 8.1 is now publicly available with new features including Apple Pay, iCloud Photo Library, and additional Continuity features. Apple Pay is available for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users for making payments for purchases with the new iPhone rather than a physical credit card in supported retail stores and apps; iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 users will be able to use Apple Pay within supported apps as well. In addition to iOS 8.1, Apple also released version 7.0.1 for third-generation Apple TV boxes.

Apple Currently Testing Three New iOS 8 Versions?



According to the latest reports from people familiar with the matter and according to the recent web traffic data, the guys from Cupertino are currently testing three iOS 8 versions. This may indicate that Apple has come up with a new strategy of updating its mobile operating system. Earlier, a major update was released once in at least 5 or 6 months. 40% of Apple's A8 Chips Are Manufactured by Samsung - Rumor



Though Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is the main supplier of the advanced 20-nanometer A8 chips used in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Samsung reportedly continues to produce about 40% of high-end processors. As revealed by IHS, the manufacturing cost of the new SoC is $20, which is $3 more than the manufacturing cost of the A7 processor.
