Apple Has Released Safari 6.1 Seed 6 for Developers





Apple has released Safari 6.1 Seed 6 for developers. It is compatible with OS X Lion and Mountain Lion and requires Security Update 2013-002. Here’s what the company from Cupertino says about the new beta-version:

This pre-release version of Safari includes WebKit enhancements for better text, layout, and accessibility support. It also includes a redesigned Web Inspector with a streamlined toolbar, a new Activity Viewer, and other great tools for building and debugging your website. iCloud.com Beta Website Updated with iOS 7 style design



Apple executives - especially Jonny Ive - love the new iOS 7 design immensely, though a lot of users still haven’t got used to thinking that this is the future, the near future that every iPhone, iPad or iPod touch owner has to face. Anyway, the guys from Cupertino liked the new iOS look so much that they redesigned the iCloud.com Beta website using a very similar to the iOS 7’s pattern.

Apple’s Q3 2013 Earnings Report

WhatsApp Messenger Got the Update



WhatsApp Messenger, the most popular cross-platform instant messaging service was updated to a version 2.10.1. On one hand, this is good news, but on the other - not really. By the end of this year, WhatsApp would become a subscription-based application - $0.99 per 12 month. However, those who download the messenger now, would get the annual subscription for free.

Apple's New Microsoft 365 and Google Docs Rival



Rejoice all those who don’t like neither Google Docs, nor Microsoft Office 365 as a few days ago their new rival was born. Announced in June at WWDC, this rival is a purely new cloud-based iWork version. Well, actually, this is still only a beta and at the moment it is available only for Apple developers. However, what that means is that the relatively short-term Google-Microsoft domination in the sphere of cloud editing tools might be soon over.

Apple Stores Are Pushing New Table-Based Customer Service Strategy



Apple is gradually rolling out a new customer service initiative called ‘table selling’ across its retail stores. With the new strategy, employees at Apple Stores are assigned a product table at which they are responsible for serving groups of customers with the same device but different needs. Previously, employees helped each customer individually on a first-come, first-serve basis which often resulted in lengthy wait times.

Patent Holding Company Intertrust Files Patent Infringement Suit Against Apple



According to The Wall Street Journal, patent holding company Intertrust has filed a lawsuit against Apple, alleging that Cupertino-based company infringes on 15 of its patents. Intertrust licenses and invents technologies for digital rights management and currently holds more than 150 patents.

Evasi0n jailbreak fixes released: Weather App and Long Reboot

The fixes can be applied easily by updating the evasi0n 6.x untether and uikittools packages in Cydia, reports planetbeing:
