Apple Releases iOS 8.1.1 with Stability Improvements and Bug Fixes



Apple has just released iOS 8.1.1 to users worldwide. The public release comes two weeks after the release of the beta version that contained a wide number of bug fixes, but lacked new functionality. Looks like this is another minor update aimed at making the mobile operating system more stable. What is also interesting about iOS 8.1.1 is that it reportedly kills Pangu untethered jailbreak, so if you want to keep your device jailbroken, stay away from this software update.

Mass Production of iPad Pro to Start in Q2 2015 - Ming-Chi Kuo



According to what usually-reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo writes, Apple's long-anticipated 12.9-inch or 12.2-inch iPad Pro won't enter mass production until the second quarter of the next year. Kuo believes that the thing that will push the production of the large tablet back is a brand new display, which is currently at the development stage.

Pegatron Will Boost Its Production Capacity to Help Apple Produce iPhones?



According the the latest report from Nikkei, Apple's supplier Pegatron is currently working hard to boost its production capacity. Such a step is caused by strong demand for the recently-released iPhone 6. Apart from manufacturing the 4.7-inch handset, this factory may also get orders for the production of the larger 5.5-inch model as Foxconn can't cope with such a massive load.

iOS 8 Adoption Rate Is Now Close to 60% - Apple



According to what can be found on the App Store support page for developers, the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system is currently installed on 56% of compatible devices. Over the past month, the adoption rate has increased 8% and that is an impressive result, I must say. In case you don't know, Apple made the eighth version of iOS available for users worldwide seven and a half weeks ago.

The PanguTeam has released Pangu8 1.2.1, an updated version of their utility to jailbreak iOS 8.0 - 8.1.

Apple Won't Develop iPad mini, Will Focus on iPad Pro



According to the latest report from Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, Apple is currently planning to stop the development of the iPad mini to focus on the new project, which deals with the larger-screened iPad Pro. This year's iPad mini 3, the reporters claim, became the last Apple's product of its kind. While the guys from Cupertino haven't yet commented in the issue, such a step looks quite possible and logical. You see, the smaller tablet can be now substituted by the 5.5-inch iPhone, which is a bit smaller, but large enough for comfortable web-browsing, reading or playing games. For all the other things there's a normal full-size iPad.
