More than half of smartphone consumers prefer to buy the iPhone 5





A new survey of more than 800 United States buyers found that more than half of those ones who planning to buy a smartphone in the next three months say they will buy the new iPhone 5 by Apple. The poll conducted by Piper Jaffray, revealed that 53.3% of consumers say they plan to buy the iPhone 5 in the near future. This is close to a number of buyers constituting the 54.9 percent who have already chosen the iPhone 5 in October and a little more than 47.7 percent who said they would choose Apple in September.

Casio Announces 'Bluetooth Low Energy' Enabled G-Shock Smart Watch



Casio has officially proclaimed the Bluetooth G-Shock smart watch. A 180$ watch supports Bluetooth v4. Although the watch will compete with wrist Pebble e-paper model, G-Shock is in a slightly different category.

iOS Moved Android Into Second Spot In US Smartphone Market



By virtue of iPhone 5 sales, iOS reached the top spot on the smartphone market in the United States, according to research company Kantar Worldpanel Comtech. According to the report covering smartphone sales over the 12-week period ending October 28, iOS accounts for 48.1% of the smartphone market in the U.S (up 25% year-over-year) and has officially moved Android into second spot.

Sn0wBreeze 2.9.7 released: iOS 6.0.1 support added



iH8Sn0w released Sn0wBreeze 2.9.7 that brings support for tethered jailbreak of iOS 6.0.1. New version supports iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G. It does not work with A5/A6 devices, like iPad 2, iPad 3, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, etc.

Sn0wbreeze can be used to create a custom firmware with jailbreak and preserve iPhone modem (baseband) version for unlock.

Apple requires manufacturers of accessories observe the Lightning corporate ethics.



At the annual ”MFi” conference, which was held in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, Apple notified manufacturers of accessories that they have to comply with the corporate ethics selling officially licensed products. According to TUAW, the certified devices such as "made for iPhone, iPad and iPod, will only be able from companies that adhere to corporate standards." The iPad Mini Has Been Jailbroken



MuscleNerd has announced that the jailbreak developed by chpwn and phoenixdev works on the iPad mini.

Last month, chpwn revealed that his jailbreak for the iPhone 5 would be reserved as a failbreak. That means it will be limited to jailbreak developers and won't be released to the public. This is being done to make it easier to discover new exploits (which will be used for public release) in the future.
