New Chrome for iOS



A new version of the most widely used web browser ever - Google Chrome - has become available for all the iOS users. The most interesting features are the ability to open links for YouTube, Google Maps, Google+ and Google Drive using the appropriate applications, reduced resource usage and the ability to access browser history. Not bad, I must say.

WhatsApp Messenger Got the Update



WhatsApp Messenger, the most popular cross-platform instant messaging service was updated to a version 2.10.1. On one hand, this is good news, but on the other - not really. By the end of this year, WhatsApp would become a subscription-based application - $0.99 per 12 month. However, those who download the messenger now, would get the annual subscription for free.

Apple is updating support pages



Apple.com has recently had its Support pages updated. This event follows the previous redesign made on the rest of the website.  Today most support pages were updated, such as Videos, Manuals, Tech Specs, and Downloads.

Before, the Support pages used to look out-of-date as compared with the rest of the website. Moreover, some problems could be faced when searching information on these pages. The updated version features product menu, so that one could search for manuals related to a specific item. Another improvement concerns search results sorted by product.

The last but not least, since now the Support pages will boast the same design as Apple online store.

Twitter for iOS and Mac Updated



Twitter app for both OS X and iOS got the update recently. The new version can boast of a truly unique and noticeable feature – direct message syncing. What that means is that when you read a DM using official website or the Twitter clients for Mac OS X, iOS, Android, Windows Phone or whatever else platform, this message would be automatically marked as already read on any other device. Well, I’m new to Twitter and I’ve been using it for only about a week, but I do understand what a great feature the developers have embedded to the app. Every day I waste much time on scrolling through the messages I’ve already seen to reach the newer ones.

HP Printers help Apple boost sales



 

Before 2012, one could get a 100$ discount on HP Printer when buying a Mac. The promotion stopped when printers became less popular and customers switched to digital access of documents through portable devices.

Now Apple is revitalizing the HP Printers promotion program and offers instant discount on 5 Printer models. The discount varies from 10$ to 70$.

Apart from this sales booster, Apple gives such incentives 50$ or 100$ gift card to be used in  iTunes Store/App Store for educational customers when buying an iPhone/iPad or a new Mac.
