New Mac Malware Has Been Discovered





According to the latest report from Malwarebytes, a well-known Windows backdoor malware called "Snake" has been ported to the Mac. The malware pretends to be an Adobe Flash Player installer. In fact, the program installs Adobe Flash Player, but apart from that, it installs additional components that steal passwords, unencrypted files, and login information.

Google has started the rollout of Chrome 55 that defaults to HTML5. With the release of the new version, Google literally kills the Adobe Flash standard. Thanks to this, the browser has become faster, it uses less memory and battery and ensures a higher level of security for all users.

Pangu Releases English Version of iOS 9.2-iOS 9.3.3 Jailbreak



The Pangu team has released an English version of their semi-tethered jailbreak for iOS 9.2-iOS 9.3.3. Apart from the support for new language, the new tool is compatible with both Mac, Linux and Windows and includes Cydia Impactor that allows you to sideload the Pangu app onto your compatible iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

Developers Release New Version of Semi-Restore



A new version of the application for those who use jailbroken iPhones, iPads and iPod touch units and need to remove everything from their devices without losing the jailbreak has been recently released by the developers. The app is called Semi-Restore and, as I've already mentioned, it lets users restore their devices without losing the jailbreak. Semi-Restore now supports the hacked versions of iOS 9.02 and iOS 9.1.

A new music keyboard for iPad



Miselu company has launched a new product for iPad – a wireless music keyboard. It boasts a high-quality two-octave (24-key) music keyboard. It can also work as an iPad cover, and has a micro-USB slot and a sealed Li-ion battery for 5-6 hours of operation.

What’s more, the keyboard is also compatible with Windows and Linux software, just if they support MIDI over USB.

The keyboard is expandable, from 242 x 185.7 x 9.9 mm (the size of an iPad) to 242 x 201.3 x 28.5 mm. It makes the device much easier to use. Moreover, the keyboard springs with the help of anti-polarity magnets, which itself is an innovation.

Evasi0n 1.3 Released With Support for Jailbreaking iOS 6.1.1



The Evad3rs have released Evasi0n 1.3, an update to the jailbreak utility that brings support for the new iOS 6.1.1 iPhone 4S firmware. Additionally, the team notes that OS X 10.5 should be fully supported now and the linux glibc requirement has been lowered to 2.3.

Absinthe v0.4: jailbreak utility for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S is updated

The Chronic Dev-Team has released an update to its Absinthe jailbreak utility that brings support for Mac OS X 10.5 (Intel + PPC) and fixes several bugs.

Absinthe Jailbreak Utility Updated to v0.3, Released for Linux

The Chronic Dev-Team has released an update to their Absinthe jailbreak utility for iPhone 4S and iPad 2. So users who failed to jailbreak can try with new version Absinthe 0.3. Chronic Dev-Team also released a version for Linux users.

@pimskeks announced the release over Twitter:

Linux version (x86/x86_64) of #Absinthe #A5 #jailbreak is done!

Also version 0.3 of #Absinthe #A5 #jailbreak is available for OSX and Windows. Nothing really new, so no need to re-apply :-)

#Absinthe 0.3 only has some cosmetic changes, and a potential bug fix for win32 (only really few people seem affected)

"Dream Team" will work on untethered iPad 2 and iPhone 4S jailbreak

Pod2g has recently announced that Planetbeing, MuscleNerd, and P0sixninja have joined his effort to release an iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2.

@planetbeing, the legendary hacker behind iPhone Linux and lot of jailbreaks has joined the A5 research! The famous @MuscleNerd, the leader of the iPhone Dev Team, who did a lot of tests for Corona and whom integrated it and made it simple in redsn0w is willing to help also. And last, but not least @p0sixninja, the leader of the Chronic Dev Team, and my partner for years on iPhone security research has started to code and fuzz the Apple sandbox.

That means that we now have a dream team to create a public release of the A5 jailbreak.

These days there are three main players at Linux/Windows Virtualization on Macs. One of them is a basic emulator VirtualBox that was acquired by Oracle as a part of Sun in 2009. Oracle isn’t very interested in development of free Open Source projects so it is unlikely that it will become much better in the near future.
