According to the latest New York Times report, an unknown zero-day iOS exploit was recently sold for $500.000. Well, we all knew that big companies like Apple pay hackers good money when they discover vulnerabilities in the operating system. But half a million... I think that’s too much.

Survey Shows Pre-Release Demand For Apple’s iWatch Is On Par With iPad



According to a ChangeWave survey, consumers show a similar level of interest in purchasing a rumored iWatch from Apple, as were interested in buying an iPad just before the Apple tablet was announced.

14 percent of respondents indicated that they are ‘somewhat’ likely and 5 percent ‘very’ likely to purchase an iWatch, with current owners of Apple products significantly more likely to buy an iWatch.

Facebook Is Likely To Debut Its Own Android-Smartphone On April 4



Today Facebook invited members of the press to an event related to Android on April 4, and TechCrunch notes that Facebook will likely debut its long-rumored smartphone at the event. The New York Times reports that European Union regulators have a deep interest in the contracts between Apple and iPhone vendor partners in order to identify the anti-competitive behavior of the company. Devices With 'Willow Glass' Displays Unlikely To Appear During Next Three Years



Earlier this month The New York Times said that Apple is working on a smart watch with curved display that could make use of Corning’s flexible Willow Glass. Today Bloomberg reported that Corning believes it will likely take at least three years before devices with bendable Willow Glass displays can hit the market.

Apple is working on "smart" glass-wrapped wathces



Nick Bilton shares information with The New York Times that Apple is "experimenting" with a glass-wrapped smart watches, "according to people familiar with the company's explorations." The article notes that Corning has developed a special glass which can be used on the owner's wrist due to its curving.

The crime rate in New York City has been increased due to aggravating thefts of Apple devices



The New York Times reports that today the Mayor of New York City Michael Bloomberg has published data on crime at the end of 2012, noting a slight increase in the rate of major crime in the city, which may be a consequence of increased theft of iPhone and iPad.

Google Released Native YouTube App For iPhone

Google, as promised, has launched a native YouTube app for Apple’s smartphone. Previously we reported that Apple would be removing the YouTube app from IOS 6 that is expected to be released in the immediate future. At that time, Google said that a native iOS app is in the pipeline.

YouTube app just appeared as a free download in the App Store.

Apple Considered Making A Major Investment Into Twitter

The New York Times reported that “in recent months” Twitter and Apple were talking about a strategic investment in the amount of hundreds of millions dollars.

“There is no guarantee that the two companies, which are not in negotiations at the moment, will come to an agreement. But the earlier talks are a sign that they may form a stronger partnership amid intensifying competition from the likes of Google and Facebook”.

Smaller iPad Costing "Significantly Less" Than $499 Coming This Fall, According to NYT

The New York Times sources confirmed previous rumors about launch of the iPad mini that would cost "significantly less than the latest $499 iPad" when it debuts later this year.

According to analysts and executives in the technology industry, the smaller iPad is part of an Apple strategy to garner and retain a larger marketshare by introducing a variety of tablet sizes. The publication notes the Cupertino-based company used a similar model with the iPod line which now ranges from the iPod shuffle to the iPod classic.
