iAds Are Now Available in 70 New Countries





Apple on Tuesday announced that it has extended iAds support to additional 70 countries, making the advertising network available in 95 countries. The announcement was placed on Apple's official webpage for developers.

As to the countries where the new system has been launched this week, they include those of Europe, Americas, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia.

Net Cost of iPad Air 2 Components Is $275 - IHS Experts



A research firm called IHC has recently torn down Apple's new iPad Air 2 to find out how much money the guys from Cupertino spend on the hardware for their flagship tablet. As usual, the net cost of components is much lower than the actual price of the device, however, we should not forget that this cost does not include the price of assembly, transportation costs etc. Anyway, the experts claim that Apple spends about $275 on the 16GB version of the iPad Air 2, which is one dollar more than the net price of the last-year iPad Air. Keep in mind that this is the basic model; all the other are more expensive to assemble.

Apple Pay Glitch Makes Bank of America Customers Pay Twice for Goods They Purchase



As you probably know, Apple has recently launched its long-anticipated payments service Apple Pay. According to the latest reports from reliable sources, there is a glitch in one of the networks that work with Apple’s new system, which makes the Bank of America customers pay twice for each product they purchase. The good news is that both Bank of America and Apple are aware of the problem and currently working on the solution. All the money the customers have lost so far will be soon refunded.

Apple officially announces iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3



 

Today Apple officially announced two new tablets - iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3.

iPad Air 2, teblet with 9.7" Retina 2048 x 1536 pixels display, is now 18 percent thinner than the first iPad Air (6.1 mm vs 7.5 mm), has brand new A8X processor that is 40 percent faster. iPad Air 2 is also lighter 437g vs 469g for Wifi model. It's also got a brand new camera out back: an 8MP iSight camera (f/2.4 aperture) that does 1080p video, burstmode, panorama shots, and auto HDR (that takes up a bit less space). iPad Air has Touch ID, the Home button-based security system that enables login via fingerprint. With Touch ID, iPad Air 2 also has Apple Pay, albeit enabled for online purchases only. Front-facing camera is also getting improved, and it's now known as the "Facetime HD" camera.

Apple accidentally leaked a new iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 featuring Touch ID in screenshots for its official iPad User Guide.

In addition to revealing the new devices, the guide also reveals that the iPad Air 2 will feature burst mode for taking photos with the iPad Air 2.

iOS 8.1 Beta Contains @3x iPad Images Hinting at Higher Resolution iPad



Triple size iPad user interface elements have been found in the iOS 8.1 beta seeded to developers for testing by Hamza Sood.

Some Apple frameworks on iOS 8.1 contain @3x iPad assets. Bring on the Retina HD iPads!

It's been rumored that Apple is planning to release a larger 12.9-inch 'iPad Pro' with a more powerful A8X processor. The device is said to feature larger speaker grilles, a smaller camera lens, and a slightly thinner body.

Apple Asking Developers to Submit Apps for OS X Yosemite 10.10



According to the latest reports from Apple developers, the company is currently asking its developers to create apps for the upcoming OS X Yosemite 10.10 that is expected to be released soon. Apple to Announce Fiscal Q4 Financial Results on October 20th



According to the recently-updated Investor relations page, Apple will officially announce its financial results in the fourth fiscal quarter (which is the third calendar quarter) of 2014 on October 20th. This means that soon we'll find out how many iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus units the guys from Cupertino have sold over the last weeks and how much money they have earned. Samsung to Supply Apple With 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch Displays



Looks like the guys from Cupertino can’t or don’t want to get rid of the dependence on their main market rival, which is Samsung. According to the latest report from DigiTimes, the South Korean manufacturer will supply Apple with 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch panels for the upcoming iPad models. First shipments will be sent to Apple at the end of this year, so looks like the appropriate deal between tech giants has already been signed.

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Are Not as Bendable as It Was Believed [Video]



According to the latest report from a research firm called Consumer Reports, Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus is not as bendable as it was believed. It took 90 pounds of force to bend the recently-released 5.5-inch iPhone and about 70 pounds of force to deform its 4.7-inch sibling. The larger handset is actually stronger, which is a bit of surprise for me.

4.7-inch iPhone 6 Teardown by iFixit [Video]



Several days after the official release of Apple’s 4.7-inch iPhone 6, iFixit experts have performed its teardown, which revealed that the handset is indeed equipped with the next-generation 64-bit A8 processor and M8 motion coprocessor, 1334x750 pixels display with pixel density of 326ppi, 8-megapixel rear and 1.2-megapixel front camera, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 as well as with NFC and LTE chips.
