AppleInsider reports that an analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities has shared a few new details about rumored Apple's low-cost iPhone. He expects the cheaper iPhone will have a plastic and fiberglass casing that will be thinner, lighter and stronger, than typical plastic casings.

Analyst Says Cheaper iPhone and iPhone 5S Will Launch in August/September



Taiwan's Commercial Times points to a research note issed by an analyst Kirk Yang from Barclays claiming that Apple is planning to launch a lower-cost iPhone and an iPhone 5S in the August/September timeframe.

France Telecom CEO shared his point of view about Apple



AllThingsD reports that CEO of France Telecom-Orange, Stephane Richard at an event with journalists said that Apple had become "more flexible" beginning "to focus more on everyone else" and has become "less arrogant than in the past.

Analyst Expects Unsubsidized iPhone Mini Will Cost From $250 to $300



Today analyst Brian White from Topeka Capital issued a note to clients (via Forbes) providing his expectations for much-rumored cheaper iPhone. According to White, Apple can release the low-cost iPhone as early as June and the device will be called “iPhone Air” or “iPhone mini”. He also expects that the contract-free model will cost from $250 to $300, which would allow the device to compete with high-end smartphones priced below $320 from China-based Xiaomi. He also noted:

Sources from China provided information on the launch of the iPhone and the iPhone 6 5S in 2013



Brightwire provided a translated report from Chinese media which claims that Apple is preparing the launch of the iPhone 5S and 5-inch iPhone 6 this year:

"- A source told Chinese mobile phone information site Laoyaoba.com that it has seen the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 at Apple's suppliers. Both models may be released in 2013, according to the website's microblog on Thursday evening.

Apple Told Reseller That New Mac Pro Will Arrive In Spring 2013



France Systems, Apple reseller in France, sent out newsletter to its customers informing them that Apple will halt Mac Pro sales on March 1st, 2013 due to new regulatory requirements in EU.

As reported by both MacGeneration and Mac4Ever, the reseller also points out in the newsletter that Apple told them a new Mac Pro will arrive in Spring of this year. Translation:

Apple Has Become The #1 Vendor Of Mobile Phones In U.S. For The First Time



According to a new research from Strategy Analytics, Apple outstripped Samsung for the first time ever to become the number one vendor of mobile phones in U.S. The report notes that Apple sold 17.7 million iPhones during the fourth quarter of 2012 compared to 16.8 million sold by Samsung and 4.7 million sold by LG holding the third place.

Apple Said Nearly 300 Million Devices Are Running iOS 6



Today, Apple published an iOS 6.1 press release revealing some impressive numbers on iOS platform and iOS 6.1 usage. As of today, 300 million iOS devices – iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone – are running iOS 6, with 450 billion iMessages sent, over four trillion notifications received and nine billion photos uploaded to Photo Stream.

Apple TV 2G Will Be Supported By Upcoming Jailbreak



The Apple TV 2 will be included in the upcoming jailbreak, according to MuscleNerd of the Evad3rs Dev-Team.

Awesome...as @EvilPenguin_ pointed out, we're seeing the final ATV2 6.1 today too. So ATV2 will be covered by the JB (not ATV3 tho).

Unfortunately, as mentioned earlier the Apple TV 3G will not be supported by this jailbreak.

Apple is on the way to launch a full-size version of the 128 Gb iPad



9to5Mac reports that four of the new configurations of the iPad appeared in the United States retailer's database. Although the exact information was not revealed in the database. The new devices was named as "ultimate" of current full-size model configuration. There are suggestions that such "ultimate" iPad may be a Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + celluar iPad 128 Gb model in black and white color options.

Apple Is Investing $3M To Open Its First Retail Location In Indonesia



NZWeek reports (via TNW) that Apple is planning to offer direct online sales in Indonesia and to open up its first brick-and-mortar store in the capital city, Jakarta. Today the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) in Indonesia announced that it has approved the application filed by Apple to open up a online shop in the country. Also the report claimed that Apple is going to invest 2-3 million U.S. dollars to open its first retail location in Jakarta.

LG Bumped Apple To 3rd Place In US Handset Market



Recently the iPhone have captured a record 53 percent of the smartphone market in the U.S, but when it comes to its second place in the handset market (feature phones and smartphones combined), a new report said LG moved Apple to third place during December thanks to strong sales of its highly popular Optimus G.
