Apple Announced New iPad With A6X Chip And Lightning Connector





Сегодня на медиа-конференции Apple представила обновлённую модель полноразмерного iPad с более быстрым процессором A6X и коннектором Lightning. Новый чип имеет в два раза большую производительность графического и центрального процессоров, по сравнению с предыдущим чипом. При этом новый iPad имеет такой же дизайн и обеспечивает те же 10 часов работы от батареи, как и предыдущий iPad. Apple также добавила в новый iPad поддержку множества дополнительных международных операторов LTE-сетей.

Insiders Detail Steve Jobs' Role in Apple's Mapping Effort

Bloomberg has recently provided an interesting glimpse of Steve Jobs' role in Apple's mapping effort. The project has been a number of years in the making but which only now has made its way into the public's hands. The report claims Apple's mapping effort was Jobs' idea. Apple Plans To Work With Microlatch On Fingerprint Recognition Technology

While AuthenTec's board of directors is expected to approve Apple’s acquisition of the fingerprint sensor company for $356 million, a new report claims that Apple also plans to draw on expertise of other company to assist with creating its mobile payment service. The Australian reports that Apple has reached a deal with Australian firm Microlatch to work together on integration of similar fingerprint recognition technology with mobile payments via NFC (near filed communications).

Apple’s Updated Terms & Conditions Prohibit Apps From Promoting Other Apps

Last night many users of iOS device reported about the issue preventing them from making new purchases or redownloading previous purchases from App Store. When users attempted to make a purchase they were repeatedly asked to agree to App Store’s new Terms & Conditions. The issue, which is not rare when large number of users attempt to activate the updated Terms & Conditions at once, is currently fixed.

Google Released Native YouTube App For iPhone

Google, as promised, has launched a native YouTube app for Apple’s smartphone. Previously we reported that Apple would be removing the YouTube app from IOS 6 that is expected to be released in the immediate future. At that time, Google said that a native iOS app is in the pipeline.

YouTube app just appeared as a free download in the App Store.

Publishing Company Blue Toad Admits “FBI” UDIDs Were Stolen From Its Servers

Last week a hacker group released around 1 million UDIDs from iOS devices. The group said that they stole the list from the FBI, but a day later the law enforcement organization rejected this claim.

Now NBC News reports that Blue Toad, small Florida company that develops apps for App Store, said that UDIDs were stolen from its servers. The report notes:

Apple in talks to build internet radio service

People familiar with Apple's plans said Apple is looking to create a streaming radio service to rival current offerings like Pandora, according to Wall Street Journal sources. The purported internet-based service will focus on virtual stations to play music on a web browser or dedicated apps. One source said Apple considered competing in the internet radio market in the past as a way to help users discover new music, but ultimately scrapped the plans due to high licensing costs.

Apple's OS X passes Windows Vista in worldwide usage

The latest monthly data of desktop operating shares from Net Applications shows that total Web usage of Apple's OS X operating system has exceeded Microsoft's Windows Vista. Microsoft's Windows Vista fell in August to 6.15 percent of tracked Web usage. Meanwhile, Apple's latest operating system, OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, grew to 1.34 percent.

Hackers Released 1 Million UDIDs From IOS Devices

Today hacker group has released around 1 million UDIDs (unique identifiers) from iOS devices. Reportedly the records came from a file stolen by hackers from an FBI laptop in March. The file was said to contain a list of 12 million iOS devices including user names, cellphone numbers, zip codes, addresses, type of device, UDIDs, name of device, Apple Push Notification Service tokens, etc, but the whole list was incompleted as most personal details fields were empty.
