Apple Sold 2.79 Million Apple Watch Units - Slice Intelligence



According to the latest report from a research firm Slice Intelligence, Apple has sold about 2.79 million Apple Watch units since the launch of the device this April. The estimates made by the researchers are based on the mail receipts from two million users. As noted by Slice Intelligence, out of these two million people, nearly 20.000 have purchased the long-awaited wearable device. Moreover, 17% of the customers have decided to buy an additional band for the smartwatch. That’s definitely not bad for Apple.

New Vulnerability Found That Allows to Steal Any App Password from iOS and OS X



According to the latest report from security researchers, Apple’s OS X and iOS have a vulnerability that allows hackers to steal passwords from all the applications installed on a device. The report comes from a reliable source, The Register, that is why I think we can believe it. This software bug affects not only those apps that are installed from the App Store or other sources, but even the native apps like Mail. What is interesting is that the vulnerability was first found in October 2014. This means that the guys from Cupertino either ignore or have difficulties in fixing the problem.

Apple Sold 7 Million Apple Watch Units, Shipped Only 2.5 Million - Analyst



As noted by Global Equities Research analyst Trip Chowdhry, Apple has sold about 7 million Apple Watch units since the launch earlier this year. The number of devices already shipped to customers is noticeably smaller and is equal to only about 2.5 million. The expert predicts that the guys from Cupertino may ship as many as 40 million Apple Watch units to customers by the end of this year.

Last Year, Apple Decided Not to Release Its Own Television Set



According to the latest report released by The Wall Street Journal, last year, Apple decided to postpone the release of the television set. As noted in the report, the guys from Cupertino planned to add a 4K display, a FaceTime camera and a bunch of other interesting features  to their TV-set. They even managed to create several working prototypes. However, the company executives decided not to enter such a competitive market and cancelled the release of the new device.

40% of U.S. iPhone Users Upgraded to iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus - CIRP



According to the latest report from a research firm called Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), nearly 40% of the iPhone owners in the United States of America have upgraded to the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus since the release of the handsets last year. The total number of Apple’s iPhones in use was equal to about 94 million in March. 25 million out of this number were iPhone 6 units and 13 million - iPhone 6 Plus units. Since March, the number of active iPhone users has grown.

According to what IHS Technology Research Director for China Kevin King has recently shared on Weibo, Apple’s next-generation iPhone will feature a 12-megapixel camera with smaller pixels. This rumor goes in line with the most-recent report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who also stated that the guys from Cupertino may equip their new gadget with a brand new photo sensor.

Components for Apple Watch Allowed LG Display to Earn $186 Million in Q1 2015



As you probably know, the Apple Watch uses a display manufactured by LG Display. According to the latest report from a research firm DisplaySearch, the orders for the display for Apple’s long-anticipated wearable device allowed LG Display to earn $186 in the first quarter of 2015. This sum makes about 90% of the overall smartwatch display market worth. Estimated Cost of Apple Watch Components Is About $83 - Analysts



According to the latest report from IHS iSuppli, the estimated cost of the Apple Watch components is equal to $81.20 and $83.70. The smaller 38mm version is obviously cheaper than the 42mm model, however, this difference is almost inconspicuous. Especially if to take into account the retail prices of the wearable device, which start at $350 for the entry-level model and end with about $17.000 for the high-end Edition version made of 18-karat gold.

Only 22% of Apple Watch Pre-Orders Shipped to Customers
