Analyst forecasts concerning iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S

Gene Munster, a famous analyst, has published a research note concerning his thoughts about the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S.

According to Munster, the iPhone 5C will not boast  Siri and it will replace iPhone 4S and will be selling for $300 off contract.

In terms of the phone itself, we expect the cheaper phone to have a plastic casing, 4" display, and lower end internal specs (processor, camera, memory, etc.) than the 5S/5 line up. Additionally, we believe that Apple may exclude some software features, such as Siri, which we note was not an option on the iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 upon launch.

Apple is preparing Samsung device sales ban

Apple is again raising the issue of patent wars with Samsung. Cupertino company is planning to ask a U.S. appeals court to ban certain Samsung devices that were found in violation of Apple patents. It is not long since Obama vetoes the ban placed on Apple products for a similar reason.

The company will ask a U.S. appeals court tomorrow to block sales of Samsung models a California jury found violated patents for the iPhone’s look and features. Later, a U.S. trade agency is expected to say if it will halt some Samsung imports based on other Apple patent-infringement claims.

Apple is searching for a head of Retail department

Apple stll has not found the head of Retail department, although the sales of Cupertino company are dropping for the first time in a 4-year period.

Apple's search for a replacement, handled by recruiters Egon Zehnder International, has gone slowly, people familiar with the matter said, and the company has yet to settle on a finalist after interviewing several external candidates. Among those interviewed but rejected as a poor fit were wireless and telecommunications-industry executives, one such person said. A CEO of a privately held retailer in France spurned Apple's overtures, believing it would be hard to change Apple's culture as an outsider, another person said.

Now Apple has tuned from searching inside the company to outside, as no current candidate is suitable for the post. After the firing of previous Retail sales John Browett,  CEO Tim Cook is handling the retail responsibilities. It was Browett's idea to focus Apple's retail stores on sales and cost cutting rather than on customer service. As a result, the employees were upset as well  as the customers, whose satisfaction is declining gradually. The idea seemed unreasonable and John Browett left the post after 6 months.

ITC ban on Older iPhones, iPads was vetoed

According to WSJ, the Obama Administration has vetoed an ITC ban on the sale of older iPhones and iPads. The law would have prohibited selling of such models as AT&T iPhone 4 and iPad 2.

U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman made the decision to veto the ban on the Apple devices, citing concerns about patent holders gaining "undue leverage." He said Samsung could continue to pursue its patent rights through the courts. The action marked the first time since 1987 that a presidential administration had vetoed a product ban ordered by the U.S. International Trade Commission.

Since now the problem has risen of allowing companies to use  standard essential patents to block rival products.

Apple's position on Mobile Phone Market in 2Q 2013

According to the research firm IDC, Apple's iPhone growth has decreased. The research company estimated the worldwide mobile phone sales for the second quarter of 2013. Apple showed its second lowest result over the last four years.  The figure is only of 20% year-over-year growth as compared with 52.3% growth for the entire market.  However, Apple is still the market challenger, holing the second place after Samsung. Other competitors , such a LG, Lenovo, and ZTE did not manage to reach even the 6% mark during the quarter.

Apple posted its second-lowest year-over-year iPhone growth rate in almost four years as some buyers presumably held off on iPhone purchases in advance of an expected next-generation device launch this fall. Nonetheless, the 31.2 million iPhones Apple shipped last quarter was impressive as its flagship iPhone 5 model, which has been in the market for three quarters, was faced with additional global competition in the form of Samsung's Galaxy S4 and HTC's critically-acclaimed One models. Apple's growth is likely to accelerate globally assuming it launches a lower-cost iPhone and continues to penetrate prepaid markets in the quarters to come.
