Apple's Shift to TSMC Caused Problems for Samsung





As you probably know, Apple’s iPhone 6 will feature a new A8 processor manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company. According to what the Wall Street Journal reporters write, Apple’s collaboration with TSMC is hurting Apple’s main market rival Samsung, which used to produce processors for the previous generations of the iPhone and iPad.

End of Patent War Between Apple and Samsung Is Near?



The end of the patent war between Apple and Samsung seems to be near. According to what Bloomberg reporters write, the market giants have recently released a joint statement announcing an agreement to end all the patent disputes outside the United States of America in the near future. Looks like the companies got tired of arguing.

First Photo Showing Battery for iPhone 6 Appeared Online



New photos showing something very similar to the battery for the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 appeared on the Internet earlier today. As you may see on the image below, the battery has a capacity of 1,810 mAh. If to compare this battery to the battery found inside of the iPhone 5s, we may see that its capacity only slightly higher as the capacity of the current Apple’s smartphone.

Samsung to Produce Apple's A9 Chips?



According to the latest rumors, Samsung will become the manufacturer of the A-series chips for Apple’s gadgets in 2015, not Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company as it was reported earlier. Today’s report comes from Reuters and cites KGI Securities analyst Michael Liu, who have reportedly talked to TSMC investors, so I think we can believe it.

New Anti-Apple Ads from Samsung [Video]



Samsung has released two anti-iPad Air ads. The first one bashes the lack of true multitasking and the so-called ‘Split Screen’ mode on Apple’s tablet and the second one claims that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S’s Super AMOLED display is better than the LCD display of the iPad Air. New Rumors About Apple's A8 Processor Appear Online



According to the most recent rumors, Apple’s next-generation A8 processor won’t be quad-core as was reported earlier. As noted by several supply chain sources, the chip will boast of the clock speed of at least 2GHz, but will remain dual-core.

According to the latest report from people familiar with the matter, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company has recently began shipping processors for Apple’s long-anticipated iPhone 6. The chips are now moving towards the plants where the handsets will be assembled.

Apple's iPhone 5s Is Word's Top Selling Smartphone



According to a new report from a research firm ABI Research, Apple's iPhone 5s is currently the world’s top selling smartphone. The second, the third and the fourth places in the rating are occupied by Samsung’s Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 LTE respectively. The last spot in the Top 5 ranking was given to the iPhone 4S.

Microsoft to Release Fitness Band Compatible with iOS?



As you probably know, Microsoft is working on its own smartwatch. This wearable device, however, will differ greatly from the rivals' products. According to a well-known Windows blogger Paul Thurrott, Microsoft's smartwatch is actually a cross-platform fitness band.

What this means is that the small gadget will be compatible not only with Windows Phone, but also with Android and iOS. Moreover, just like Apple's iWatch, it will feature a number of health and fitness-related sensors.

Samsung and GlobalFoundries to Produce Apple's A9 Chips in 2015



According to what people familiar with the matter say, Samsung and GlobalFoundries will start producing Apple’s 14-nanometer A9 chips in 2015. Apart from these companies, two more firms may get a chance to supply Apple with processors for its smartphones and tablets. These firms include Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and Intel.
