German hackers from Chaos Computer Club tricked the iris scanner on the Galaxy S8. They managed to unlock the phone with the help of a printed photo and a contact lens, which means almost anyone can bypass Samsung’s security system and get access to the phone and sensitive data stored on it.

iPhone 8 to Cost $1,000 – Analysts



Согласно последнему исследованию аналитиков Goldman Sachs, премиум-версия iPhone 8 с OLED-дисплеем будет стоить 1 тыс. долларов. Эксперты полагают, что в сентябре Apple выпустит три модели iPhone.

iPhone 7s будет поставляться с 32, 128 и 256 ГБ памяти и получит ценник в 649 долларов. iPhone 7s Plus получит те же опции накопителя, однако цена будет немного иной – 769 долларов. Наконец, самую продвинутую версию, iPhone 8, оснастят 128 и 256 ГБ памяти. Стоить она будет 999 и 1099 долларов.

“Мы ожидаем, что выйдет две модели iPhone 8: со 128 и 256 ГБ памяти. Стоимость составит 999 и 1099 долларов соответственно,” – говорит аналитик Симона Янковски (Simona Jankowski).

iPhone 8 получит OLED-дисплей, беспроводную зарядку, систему распознавания лиц и ряд других улучшений. Дизайн телефона будет отличаться от дизайна iPhone 7 и более ранних моделей. Apple откажется от кнопки Home и сделает заднюю панель устройства из стекла.

New schematic showing something similar to the iPhone 8 rear panel has leaked online. The image is interesting as it shows the dual camera placed vertically as well as what appears to be a wireless charging component. It’s difficult to say if the component depicted below is legitimate or not as it was shared by an unknown sources on the Chinese social network Weibo. Galaxy Note 8 to Feature Dual Camera – Analyst



According to the research note shared by usually-reliable KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and obtained by 9to5Google, the Galaxy Note 8 may get a dual camera similar to the one the iPhone 7 Plus has. The expert believes that the camera will become “the most important upgrade” of the device. Kuo also revealed that the handset will get a 6.4-inch QHD+ OLED display along with Exynos 8895 or Snapdragon MSM8998 processor, depending on the country.

Leaked iPhone 8 Image Reveals Touch ID on the Back



A well-known insider Sonny Dickson has shared an image showing leaked schematics of the iPhone 8. The most surprising and awkward thing about the image is the location of the Touch ID fingerprint scanner cutout. It is placed on the back panel, just below the Apple logo. Currently, all iPhone models have Touch ID integrated into the Home button on the front size of the handset.

iPhone 8 to get Stainless Steel Frame and Vertical Camera – Rumor



Japanese reporters from Macotakara believe the next-generation iPhone has reached the DVT (Design Validation Test) stage ahead of start of mass production later this year. According to the latest report, the phone features a stainless steel frame that is placed in between the front and back glass panels. The design of the handset is a bit similar to the design of the iPhone 4, even though the iPhone 8 is larger, thinner and has an OLED display along with other notable improvements.

Apple Will Test Self-Driving Cars in California



Apple may soon start testing self-driving cars in California. According to the latest report from Business Insider, on Friday, California authorities officially issued the Cupertino giant the Autonomous Vehicle Testing Permit. Apple was added to the list of companies that have permission to test self-driving cars in the state. Aside from Apple, Google and Tesla have similar permissions.
