Apple buys back shares and acquires new companies





According to WSJ, Apple has repurchased $14 billion of its own shares after the Q-earnings report was published on January 28th.

Mr. Cook said Apple was "surprised" by the 8% decline in its shares on Jan. 28, the day after it reported quarterly results, and wanted to be "aggressive" and "opportunistic." With the latest purchases, Mr. Cook said Apple had bought back more than $40 billion of its shares over the past 12 months, which Mr. Cook said was a record for any company over a similar span.

iPhone 6 Specs Leaked Online?



We know that Apple is planning to release a new iPhone 6 this year. Well, to be precise - two iPhones with different screen sizes. According to the KDB Daewoo Securities analysts, both devices will be equipped with a 64-bit Apple A8 processor, 2GB of RAM and an 8 megapixel camera. Evasi0n7 Jailbreak Works on iOS 7.0.5, Requires Patch



I0n1c confirmed that it is safe to update to iOS 7.0.5 if you have a jailbroken device. This version of Apple’s mobile operating system is still vulnerable to the evasi0n7 jailbreak exploits. Here’s what the hacker posted on Twitter:

Tim Cook Confirmed Apple's Plans to Create Mobile Payment Service



Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed that the company from Cupertino is planning to start working on a mobile payment service, but this is not the most important issue at the moment. The idea of developing Apple’s own payment service first appeared before the Touch ID introduction, Cook added.

First Leaked Screenshots of iOS in the Car



iOS Developer Steven Troughton-Smith has successfully activated the iOS in the Car feature inside the iOS Simulator. iOS in the Car allows an iOS 7 users to connect their iPhones, iPads and iPods to their car’s built-in center console display to use Apple Maps, read Messages, make phone calls, and control music. References to the feature and functionality has actually been tucked into iOS 7 since the very first beta. Apple is expected to launch iOS in the Car system later this year, maybe alongside iOS 7.1. SleekSleep Lets You Sleep or Wake Your iPhone Using Proximity Sensor



There’s a new interesting tweak in Cydia called SleekSleep that lets you use the proximity sensor on your iPhone as a Sleep button. This means you can sleep or wake your device using a simple motion in front of it. A good way to impress your friends, I guess.

TSMC to Produce Fingerprint Sensors for iPhone 6



According to the latest rumors, Apple’s iPhone 6 will be equipped with a fingerprint sensor - similar to one found in the iPhone 5s. Such sensors will be manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company.

Samsung to Release Two Models of its Flagship, Just Like Apple Did in 2013



Following Apple’s example, its South Korean rival decided to split the Samsung Galaxy S5 lineup into two models - metal and plastic. These models, of course, will get different price tags: the smartphone with metal housing is expected to be sold for €800 ($1,093), while the model with all-plastic body - for €650 ($889).

iPhone 6 to Come in September - Rumor



South Korean sources report that the next-generation iPhone 6 will be released in September. This will happen after the iPhone ‘Phablet’ launch in May. The device, called probably iPhone Air, is said to be only 6 mm thin. Apart from that, insiders expect the new handset to be made of metal and feature the design similar to the current iPhone 5s.
