Martin Hajek's iPad Mini S and iPad Mini C Concepts

Martin Hajek, whose iPhone 5c concepts looked almost like the original Apple devices, has posted a couple of renderings on his website that show something he calls the new iPad Mini S and iPad Mini C.

Apple is expected to unveil its new iPad mini with Retina display very soon. However, it is still unclear when this tablet will be actually released - there’s no exact date. Some say, the company from Cupertino will announce the gadget in October and ship it in some weeks after the media event for reporters, but this is unlikely to happen as Apple is currently experiencing some manufacturing delays.

iPhone 5c sales are reaching those of iPhone 5s

Localytics has published a new report that claims San Francisco to be the best selling location for the iPhone 5s while in general the gap between iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c sales is dwindling.

After close to one week of sales, we found that, overall, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco held the largest market share in the U.S. for iPhone 5s and 5c activations. This is to be expected given the size of their populations. However the real surprise was that San Francisco came in third. Considering San Francisco is actually the 11th largest market in the U.S., its status as a technology haven also, clearly, translates to a culture of early adoption.

We then looked at the distribution of the iPhone 5s and 5c for each of the cities. Again, San Francisco stood out, showing the strongest preference for the 5s over the 5c (85% vs. 15%) among the top 12 major U.S. cities. Philadelphia showed the lowest preference with 72%.

Leaked iPad 5's Schematics - Images

Images of something very similar to the upcoming iPad 5 schematics have leaked online earlier today. According to AppleInsider, these schematics are being used by accessories manufacturers to create cases and covers for the new Apple’s device.

The image suggests the next iPad will measure exactly 169.48 millimeters wide, shaving more than 15 millimeters off the width of the fourth-generation iPad. The document also shows that the height of the device has been slightly reduced, from 241.3 millimeters in the current model to 240 millimeters in the alleged next-generation version.Thickness of the next iPad is also expected to be reduced, going from 9.55 millimeters to 7.5 millimeters, the document claims.

The company from Cupertino is expected to unveil its new tablet this October.

Apple Releases New 'Greetings' Ads for the iPhone 5c

The company from Cupertino has released new 'Greetings' ads to promote its plastic iPhone 5c. On the Apple’s official YouTube channel one can watch either the two separate 30-second clips - Greetings and Greetings Too - or the so-called extended cut, which is one-minute long.

As to the plot of the short video, it is rather simple and reminds Apple’s previous ads. People of various nationalities and speaking different languages use the colorful gadget to communicate and express emotions. The ad looks simple, but still it gently prompts you to buy the new gadget. And this, I believe, is what the advertisement should do - prompt, not persuade.

You can watch the Greetings (extended cut) below. Enjoy!

iFixIt Tears Apart the New Plastic iPhone 5c

iFixIt experts have teared apart the new Apple’s plastic iPhone to show us what’s inside of the long-expected gadget. This happened on Friday - the day, when the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c were officially launched in the United States and several other countries.

The iPhone 5c can boast of a 1510mAh battery, Apple A6 processor and 1GB or RAM. All this makes it very similar to the iPhone 5. Still, it differs from it very much.

Although both new iPhones sport a similar construction and share some internals, don’t get your hopes up too high for parts cross-compatibility, thanks to the differences between the display assemblies and the differently-sized FaceTime/speaker connectors.

Below you may watch the iFixIt roundup of the iPhone 5c teardown.
