Apple Sued Two Stores In New York City For Selling Counterfeit Apple Products

According to Reuters, a pair of stores in New York City was sued by Apple for selling counterfeit Apple items. Apple filed the trademark infringement lawsuit last month but it has been suspended until now to facilitate confiscation of the counterfeit products from this stores in Flushing, Queens.

Samsung claims Apple doctored Galaxy phone images in Netherlands court

Samsung claims that Apple has once again submitted doctored evidence related to their claims of design patent-related infringement by Samsung, this time to a court in Netherlands. Apple has been “manipulating visual evidence, making Samsung’s devices appear more similar to Apple’s.” This time   the report claims Apple doctored images of the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone in comparison to the iPhone 3G.

“It surprises me that for the second time incorrect presentations of a Samsung product emerge in photographic evidence filed in litigation,” said Mark Krul, lawyer and IP law specialist at Dutch firm WiseMen. “This is not appropriate and undermines Apple’s credibility both inside and outside the court room.”

Mozilla Hopes Web Apps Will Soon Compete With Native Apps

Apple Reduced iPhone Orders Due to the Economic Worries

This week Digitimes made a report opposite to the last week statement. where it is said that Apple isgoing to decrease iPhone orders in the fourth quarter over the global economic conditions.

Here what Digitimes writes about it this time:

“While most smartphone vendors are likely to reach their shipment targets for the third quarter, they have begun to reduce orders for parts and components for the fourth quarter in preparation for a possible impact from changing economic conditions”.

Apple Seeded iOS 5 Beta 6 To Developers

Today Apple released iOS 5 Beta 6 to developers as the iOS 5 official launch later this year approaches. Also, Apple seeded Beta 6 of iTunes 10.5 to developers that is intended for syncing with devices that running iOS 5 beta 6. In addition, Apple today pushed out Xcode 4.2 developer preview 6 that is intended for compatibility with devices carrying iOS 5 Beta 6.

The iPhone 5 will likely be released in early October so the public launch of iOS 5 should be expected in this timeframe as well.

In addition, Apple pushed out iWork beta 2 for iOS  and beta 5 of the Apple TV software.

Bridesmaid Used iPad To Attend The Wedding

This was the only case when a bridesmaid put on white clothes, stood behind the bride and nobody had objected.

Renee Armstrong couldn’t get at the wedding’s place and decided to use her white iPad and FaceTime service to attend it virtually. The bridesmaid stood by for the wedding ceremony and managed to get into the wedding’s photos as the groomsman always held the iPad in the public eye.

Apple Cut Prices For Touch Panels By Nearly 50 Percent

As DigiTimes reports, despite Apple’s orders for touch panels from iPhone and iPad 2 have considerably grown for the third quarter, the company is said to place orders at about half the price of previous orders. This initiative could mean that Apple either attempting to lower BOM thus increasing margins at the expense of manufacturers, or the company is preparing for cutting prices ahead of new devices releases. AT&T Will Start Offering LTE Devices On August 21

This week AT&T has revealed that the sales of the first LTE devices, AT&T USBConnect Momentum 4G and AT&T Mobile Hotspot Elevate 4G, will start on August 21st. All customers will be able to utilize 5 gigabytes of data for $50 every month and after the limit will be exceeded 1 gigabyte of data will cost 10$. It is also known that AT&T USBConnect Adrenaline which is LTE-upgradeable will receive an update to LTE on August 26.

AT&T has also told about its plans to sell 4G LTE using five market places later this summer, which are situated in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. All customers with 4G LTE-consistent devices will have access to 4G LTE speeds as AT&T's 4G LTE service will be already available.

Lawsuit Regarding Location Data Collection Filed Against Apple in South Korea

Last month it was reported that a South Korean court ordered Apple to pay out compensation of one million won (about $946 at that time) to an iPhone user in a legal argument regarding collection of location data. Then it became known that the plaintiff’s lawyers were preparing to file a class-action lawsuit to obtain compensations for other user who claimed to have been harmed by the Apple’s collection.

Apple Proposed A Glass-Roofed Store in Santa Monica

Tonight at the Planning Commission of Santo Monica, California, Apple is said to have proposed building of a new Apple Retail Store on the Third Street Promenade of the city. As Curbed notes, the proposal was made by an unnamed retailer. He wants to build 8.084 square foot retail store in the place where three story Borders Bookstore is currently situated.

9to5mac recently found new code files, related to the announced iOS5-wide voice-recognition app called Assistant. They allow to suggest that the app will be able to browse a user’s e-mail, address book, phone application, calendars and even to open links. Non-iPad Tablet Makers Will Cut Prices Twice This Year

DigiTimes reports citing a source that sales of iPad rivals turned out to be lower than it was expected, and the demand for them from retail companies continues to drop sharply, so manufacturers of non-Apple tablets will have to cut prices for their devices as early as late September. iPad 3 Won’t Be Released This Year Due To Retina Display Issues
