TSMC Shipped First Batch of Fingerprint Sensors for Upcoming Gadgets

According to the latest rumors, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has already provided the first batch of fingerprint sensors for Apple's would-be iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3. This may indicate that the mass production of all of the abovementioned gadgets will start soon.

The information comes from supply chain sources, so I think we can believe it. The report has been first spotted on website cecb2b.com (via MacRumors).

In addition to production at TSMC, the report notes that the fingerprint sensors are being assembled by TSMC subsidiaries Xintec and Suzhou Crystal Semiconductor.

Apple is expected to unveil its next-gen 4.7-inch iPhone, iPad Air and iPad mini in the second half of 2014. 5.5-inch iPhone, however, might be delayed as the suppliers have encountered some manufacturing problems connected with the battery assembly.
