Updated iPad Air and Retina iPad mini to Feature New Processor, Camera and Touch ID

As you probably know, Apple is expected to release an updated iPad Air and Retina iPad mini later this year. This is what KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed on Thursday. Both gadgets may get a fingerprint sensor, an improved Apple A8 processor and an 8 megapixel camera. However, it should be noted that the company from Cupertino hasn't yet confirmed the rumors mentioned above, so the release is stil under the question.

Anyway, here's what the analyst predicts (via MacRumors):

The biggest changes will be A8 processor, Touch ID (fingerprint recognition), and main camera resolution of 8MP.

[...]

...we now think Apple will launch an upgraded version [of iPad mini] with same form factor, A8 processor and Touch ID (fingerprint recognition) to boost shipments of iPad mini with Retina display.

As to the launch date, Kuo thinks that both gadgets will be released in the second half of 2014. Probably, in September or October. Well, we'll see.
