Apple Plans to Produce 72 to 78 Million iPhone 7 Units in 2016





According to the latest report from Taiwan's Economic Daily, Apple has asked its suppliers to produce a larger amount of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus units than it was originally expected for 2016. In particular, the reporters believe Apple wants to have 72 to 78 million iPhone units manufactured by the end of this year. This figure is larger than the number of devices predicted by the analysts.

LG to Supply Apple with Dual Cameras - Analysts



According to the latest report from the analyst Chris Chang, Apple may be thinking about changing the manufacturer of dual lens cameras for the widely-rumored 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus. Earlier rumors suggested that Sony was the main manufacturer of photo sensors, however, because of major production problems the company may lose its rights to LG Innotek. The latter one is reportedly ready to produce enough camera modules to catch up with the estimated demand for the updated iPhone. It would be easier to talk about Apple intentions if the company revealed its plans, but unfortunately the tech giant remains silent.

Apple Pulls iOS 9.3.2 Update, Working on Fix for Bricked iPad Pro Units



Several days after the release of iOS 9.3.2 to users worldwide, Apple has pulled the update because of numerous reports claiming it bricks some 9.7-inch iPad Pro models. The company remains silent, but those iPad Pro users who haven’t yet updated their devices don’t see iOS 9.3.2 in the Software Update section. This indicates that the update has been indeed pulled and that Apple engineers are currently working on a fix for the problem.

Apple’s Global Smartphone Market Share Falls in Q1 - Gartner



According to the latest data shared by a research firm Gartner, Apple’s global smartphone market share fell to 14.8% in the first quarter of 2016. The number of iPhones shipped to customers accounted for 51.6 million and the number of smartphones sold globally by all vendors in the first quarter grew from 336 to 349 million units. Last year, Apple’s share in the same quarter was equal to 17.9%, so the decline is easily noticeable. Despite the overall growth of the smartphone market, the demand for iPhones becomes weaker.

Apple to Let Users Unlock Their Macs with OS X 10.12 with iPhone’s Touch ID



Apple is reportedly working on a feature that will allow to unlock Macs using the Touch ID fingerprint sensor on the iPhone. Sources claim that such a useful feature will be added to the next major OS X update, OS X 10.12 “Fuji” that is expected to be unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June. As it was reported yesterday, this same update will also bright Apple’s virtual assistant, Siri, to Mac computers.

According to the latest report from supply chain sources, Apple suppliers have recently begun hiring workers for the assembly of the new iPhone that features a ‘more complex' design compared to the predecessor. Apple Releases iOS 9.3.2, Update Bricks Some iPad Pro Units



Apple has recently released iOS 9.3.2 with numerous bug fixes and a number of minor stability, security and performance enhancements to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users worldwide.

According to the release notes, the latest update fixes the problem that caused various sound quality issues with Bluetooth accessories connected to the iPhone SE. Apart from that, iOS 9.3.2 addresses the issue with dictionary, VoiceOver and typing email addresses in the Mail and Messages apps while using certain keyboards.

New Images Show iPhone 7 Back Panel and Box



Two new images showing something what appears to be a back panel of the iPhone 7 and the retail box of the 64GB model have been published by a well-known insider OnLeaks on Twitter. If legitimate, the images prove that the next-generation iPhone will indeed feature new antenna bands together with a slightly larger protruding camera.

Apple’s MacBook Market Share Falls 40% in Q1 2016



According to the latest report from TrendForce, Apple’s laptop sales have fallen more than 40% over the last couple of months. In the fourth quarter of 2015, Apple’s MacBook market share was equal to 9.7% and now it is estimated that the share accounts for 7.1%. Keeping in mind that total shipments fell in 2016, the decline made up 40.4%. In general, Apple went from the fifth place in the ranking of top laptop vendors to the sixth.

Apple to Release One 5.5-inch iPhone Model in 2016 with Dual Camera, Other Improvements



According to the latest report from usually-reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple won’t release two separate iPhone 7 Plus and Pro models with single lens and dual lens cameras respectively. Instead, the company will unveil one 5.5-inch iPhone with dual camera and other improvements, for example, 3GB of RAM on board. As to the name of the handset, Kuo believes Apple will stick to the “iPhone 7 Plus”.

Notably, the images shared by @OnLeaks earlier today prove Kuo’s suggestion. As you see, the larger model has a slightly larger cutout for the rear camera and this may mean that the device will get the rumored dual lens sensor. Here’s How iTunes 12.4 Will Look Like [Images]



According to the images that surfaced online earlier this week, iTunes 12.4 will feature some noticeable design changes and tweaks. The first change is a new dropdown menu for fast navigation to Music, TV Shows, Movies and other types of content. A persistent sidebar is another major change that will let users look for songs in their music library faster. TSMC Completes Design of A11 Chip for iPhone 7s - Rumor



According to the latest report from reliable insiders, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has already completed the design of the 10-nanometer A11 chip that is expected to be used in the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. As noted by DigiTimes, first samples for testing may be ready in the first quarter and the mass production of new processors may start in the second quarter of 2017. First devices with new chips on board will be released in the second half of 2017, sources add.

2015 MacBook vs. 2016 MacBook: Real World Usage Test



As it was already mentioned on our website, back in April Apple released an updated 12-inch MacBook with improved processor, SSD, battery and a new Rose Gold color option. Nearly a month after the release, AppleInsider reporters have decided to test the 2015 and 2016 models side by side and find out whether the new laptop is worth upgrading to for 2015 MacBook owners.
