Apple Hit With Lawsuits over Meltdown and Spectre Vulnerabilities





The first class action against Apple is started in the US over Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities that affect Intel, ARM and AMD processors. Despite some fixes have already been issued, two people from US started a lawsuit on behalf of all users who purchased a device with the processor designed by Apple, including iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV devices.

Apple Releases iOS 11.2.2 and macOS 10.13.2 Supplemental Updates with Fix for Spectre Vulnerability



Apple issued updates to address the recent Spectre vulnerability, discovered by Google Zero Project. The fix for Meltdown breach has been added to previous versions of operating systems. Now Apple has addressed another vulnerability called Spectre, that is harder to exploit, but still, Apple issued a fix for Spectre soon enough.

Apple Releases iOS 11.1 that Features New Emoji and Bug Fixes



Having released several betas of iOS 11.1, Apple has released the first major update to iOS 11. It can be installed on following devices: iPhone 5S or later, iPad mini 2 or later, iPad Air or later, and 6th-generation iPod touch. To install the update, go to Settings — General — Software Update.

Apple Releases First iOS 11 Beta to Developers



Apple has released the first beta of iOS 11 to developers. The update brings new Control Panel with customizable elements, redesigned Lock Screen with a new notifications view, as well as the all the revamped App Store and improvements to Siri to compatible devices. Apple to Bring iTunes to Windows Store This Year



Microsoft is working with Apple to bring iTunes to Windows Store by the end of this year. This will allow the company to make its new platform called Windows 10 S more popular and lure the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users. iOS 10.2 Jailbreak Now Supports New Devices



Luca Todesco has just released an updated version of his iOS 10.2 jailbreak. According to the developer, the utility now supports all 64-bit Apple devices except for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus as well as some iPads. yalu beta 2, as the hacker calls it, is available on Todesco’s website.

Apple has quietly removed the iCloud Activation Lock status page from its website. This means that it is now impossible to check whether the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch you’re supposed to buy second-hand is locked before you actually get it. It is unclear why the company has decided to shut down such a useful page.
