Apple suppliers - UniMicron and Foxconn - are accused of dumping toxic waste into nearby rivers, The Wall Street Journal reports. Taking into account numerous accusations and suspicions of local environmental groups, Chinese government decided to begin the investigation of the incident.

Steve Jobs Movie - New Details and a Trailer [Video]



We all know that the movie about Apple’s founder Steve Jobs will hit the theaters very soon - on August 16. If you somehow happened to miss the numerous announcements, trailers, posters and whatever else - you have now a chance to catch up the army of the Jobs fans.

Watching a 40-minute long Google+ web-interview under this post, you may listen to the starring actors - Ashton Kutcher and Josh Gad - talking about the film and the characters they’ve played. Apart from that, there’s a new movie trailer one may find somewhere around the 8 minute mark.

Viber AppStore Description was hacked



The AppStore description for Viber app has been changed by hackers. It is not the first time the App's support page is attacked.  The Syrian Electronic Army took whole responsibility for this latest attack as well as for the previous ones. Now the description of the app  says "We created this app to spy on you, please download it!"

Apple may pay out about $500 million in damages



As it was reported recently, Apple had been found guilty for fixing E-Book prices. The compensation may reach the figure of $500 million, according to some legal experts.
Based on amounts that settling publishers have already paid, Apple could pay the $490 million bill from the states and class action lawyers. Apple was found guilty for conspiring with Hachette, Penguin, Random House, HarperCollins and Simon & Schusterall. The publishers have already paid there damages.

Another victim of a charging iPhone and again this is someone from China. A man named Wu Jiantong, 30, was reportedly shocked by his iPhone 4 and taken to Intensive Care Unit of a Beijing hospital.

Robber Steals iPhones and Leaves His Samsung Galaxy Instead



A man broke into Springfield wireless store, stole several iPhones and ran away. Seems to be a perfect crime, huh? It could have been such, unless the robber left his own Samsung Galaxy at the crime scene.

Apple builds a solar farm in Nevada



Apple is paying for the construction of an 18-megawatt photovoltaic solar plant in Nevada. It will power the company’s Reno data centre. According to Apple’s 2012 Environmental Footprint Report,Nevada centre will be the same environmentally responsible as the one in Maiden,North California. The latter helped to lessen unemployment by hiring hundreds of people during its construction.

The new station will use endless resources of natural solar radiation as well as geothermal recourses to supply the data centre with sufficient energy. It will cover 60% of power needs while the remaining will be acquired from local and regional sources.

Apple Stores Siri Voice Clips For Up To Two Years



Wired reported yesterday that the American Civil Liberties Union was posing questions about Siri's privacy policies, citing privacy statements claiming that older "disassociated" voice input data would be retained for "period of time" even if a user turn off Siri on his or her device.

"It's not clear what 'disassociated' means. It's not clear what 'period of time' means. It's not clear what using it to 'generally improve Siri and other Apple products and services' means," says Nicole Ozer, a lawyer with the ACLU. "The only thing that's clear is we really don't know what may be happening to the personal information we have told Siri, even after we turn Siri off."

The former home of Steve Wozniak values at $4.5 Million



The value of the House Steve Wozniak reaches 4.5 million dollars on the market. The 7500 square foot house is located in the mountains of Los Gatos. The original house was built by Wozniak in 1986, but no longer belongs to him.

Apple is offering the new iMac configuration



According to Macworld UK, Apple introduced a new configuration for its 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMacs, which allows customers to select VESA adapter instead of the standard base. The 40 dollars configuration allows users to mount their iMac on the walls or other vertical surfaces, but the device should be configured at the time of purchase.
