Researchers announced on this Monday that they had discovered vulnerability in Java 7. Hackers can use the bug to compromise any system through a web browser running the latest Java software, reports Tod Beardsley, engineering manager for open-source testing framework.

OS X Mountain Lion may be degrading battery life
Ars Technica carried out a number of tests showing that Apple's new operating system OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion is draining batteries significantly faster than the previous OS X Lion. The test unit lost some 38 percent of runtime after having installed Mountain Lion. The test was conducted a number of times, each using the same applications under what was described as a "daily workload." Being used actively were Safari, Chrome, Twitter, iChat, TextEdit, Photoshop, Mail and Outlook.
Court documents allegedly show Samsung copied iPhone icons
A new portion of the documents presented to the court by Apple as a part of the legal battle between Apple and Samsung show Samsung's proprietary home-screen icon designs are nearly identical to that of the iPhone's. As far as you know, Apple registered the most part of their icons as trademarks in 2010 that means that Apple accuses Samsung of another infringement of the iPhone-maker’s patents.

Today Apple has launched its new OS X Mountain Lion to the public. The new operating system is priced at $19.99 and can be purchased exclusively on the Mac App Store.
OS X Mountain Lion offers many new features and improvements to the Mac, including iMesage support through the Messages app, Notification Center, Reminders and Notes support via iCloud, Dictation, Game Center, improved sharing capabilities, enhanced security with Gatekeeper, Power Nap and more.

Apple looking into 3D iOS UI elements based on ambient light
Buzzfeed reports that an unnamed Apple employee said that a future version of Apple's iOS could employ unique graphical user interface features that use input from a mobile device's ambient light sensor to cast shadows on app icons thus creating the illusion of a three-dimensional workspace and bringing more realism to the mobile operating system.

Although Apple’s new MacBook Pro offer Retina display with a resolution of 2880x1800 pixels, the display options don’t allow users to run their operating systems at full resolution. The extra pixels serve to display more details on a canvas with previous resolution of 1440x900 pixels. However users, who want to display their systems at resolutions higher than 1440x900 pixels, can do this, as System Preferences provides several options ranging up to resolution of 1920x1200 pixels.

Future iPhones could broadcast preferred communication mode, network status
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Offices published on Thursday an Apple patent filing which details a system that could notify other users of preferred methods of communication based on their current network status and relative signal strength. Determining which methods of communication are available, the system simplifies the decision whether to call, text message, FaceTime or iMessage another user.
