Apple Launches Apple Music in Taiwan



Apple has recently launched its streaming music service called Apple Music as well as the Beats 1 radio in Taiwan. The launch took place nearly a week after the debut of the service in Turkey.

The Taiwanese customers can use Apple Music for three months for free. Once the trial ends, they will have to pay about $4.50 USD each month. The family plan is a bit more expensive.

App Store Dominates in Revenue, Google Play Remains Leader in App Downloads [Chart]



According to the data shared by App Annie, Google Play saw a massive growth in the number of downloads in 2015 that allowed the store to double the number of App Store downloads. Still, Apple’s online marketplace dominated in the revenue generated by the purchases of applications.

Apple Reduces Price of iPhone 5s by Nearly Half in India



In an attempt to lure more customers and make Apple products more popular, Apple has just reduced the iPhone 5s price in India by nearly a half. Previously, the iPhone 5s price was equal to 44,500 Rupees (about $665) and currently customers can get it for 24,999 Rupees (about $370), which is a good discount.

According to the latest rumor shared by a reliable source, the Apple Watch may be released in a number of new countries including Austria, Denmark and India later this month. The rumor comes from an Austrian website called MacMania. The reporters claim the information was obtained from a reliable insider working for a large electronics chain. There are no physical Apple Stores in Austria, so a big retailer can be a the only source of information about the launches of Apple products.

The tech giant has reportedly signed a deal with Maharashtra state officials, which means the plans are serious. Re/code reporters write that Foxconn agreed to invest $5 billion over five years.

New Vulnerability Found That Allows to Steal Any App Password from iOS and OS X



According to the latest report from security researchers, Apple’s OS X and iOS have a vulnerability that allows hackers to steal passwords from all the applications installed on a device. The report comes from a reliable source, The Register, that is why I think we can believe it. This software bug affects not only those apps that are installed from the App Store or other sources, but even the native apps like Mail. What is interesting is that the vulnerability was first found in October 2014. This means that the guys from Cupertino either ignore or have difficulties in fixing the problem.

Foxconn to Open Several New Factories in India by 2020?



According to the latest report from Reuters reporters, Apple’s main partner, Foxconn, is currently planning to build a new factory in India, which will be responsible for assembling iPhones. The reason for such a decision is the increasing wage inflation in China. In the near future, Foxconn will start searching for a suitable location for the new factory, reporters claim. By 2020, Foxconn plans to build as many as 10-12 new manufacturing facilities and data centers in India. And that is quite an ambitious task that requires a lot of resources, I must admit.

Siri Now Can Make Calls Using Speakerphone



With the release of iOS 8.3 beta, the guys from Cupertino have slightly improved the functionality of the build-in voice assistant. According to what reliable sources write, Siri now can make calls via speakerphone every time user asks for that using the “Hey Siri” command. Strangely enough, such a simple feature was missing in iOS 8 - 8.2. It’s good Apple discovered this and found a solution to the problem.

Apple Releases Second iOS 8.3 Beta to Developers



Apart from releasing the second beta of OS X Yosemite 10.10.3, the guys from Cupertino have recently seeded the second beta of iOS 8.3 with Xcode 6.3 beta 2 to developers. The release of this version of Apple’s mobile operating system comes about two weeks after the release of the very first iOS 8.3 beta, which contained several new features, namely, a brand new emoji picker, the support of wireless CarPlay connectivity, Google’s two-step verification as well as Apple Pay support of UnionPay in China.

Apple Sold Nearly 500 000 iPhones in India in Q4 2014



According to the latest report published by a research firm called Counterpoint Research and first shared by Economic Times, in the last quarter of 2014, the guys from Cupertino managed to sold half a million iPhone units in India. I must admit, it is an impressive result, especially if to take into account the fact that in 2013, Apple marketed about a million smartphones in this country. Latest result indicates that the larger form factor was really something users around the world had been expecting for a long period of time. Apart from that, strong sales proved that in 2014, there were more people in India ready to purchase such device as the iPhone.
