There is a project (iphonebluetooth.tk) to unlock the iphone bluetooth. The developers got some interesting progress. They were able to search and find two other bluetooth devices (a sonyericsson phone and an hackintosh) from the iPhone, and transfer some data. Here are several interesting screenshots:

TyroTuner is a microphone-based utility that tunes the standard six-string guitar. Select what string you want to tune, and then play the guitar string...the needle will tell you whether you need to tune up or down.

The US Patent Office today published two Apple patent filings that reveal the company having researched a unique head-tracking display technology designed to replicate the theater experience. A head-mounted display with head-tracking technology intended to reduce viewer fatigue and disorientation by simulating a theater or other viewing environment.

The wearer of the device can pick a seat in the fake theater and then manipulate the image, zoom in and out, and look around thanks to an accelerometer and gyroscope built into the goggles.

This robot is made in Japan. The main part is a jailbroken iPhone 3G running some Ruby code. Other parts include an Arduino CPU, a TA7291P motor, and 4 AA batteries. The robot is controlled via WiFi from a nearby computer.
