Apple has released iOS 11.3 public beta 1 as promised earlier and there are already some outstanding features.
Apple recently issued a patch for the vulnerabilities named Meltdown and Spectre, that have been found in the Intel processors. The patch should have been installed on every device that received the update, but there’s a pitfall. Despite Apple assured customers the fix won’t slow down the devices, it actually did.
While Samsung is selling a lot of its Galaxy Note 8 handsets, Apple is the leader in the invention sphere. The demand for iPhone X is still strong and Apple still cannot produce enough devices to meet the demand.
Apple has issued a major update iOS 11.2 that includes Apple Pay Cash feature and 7.5W wireless charge. The update has also fixed a recent bug with the date.
Apple today released the fifth beta of iOS 11.2. The update is available for both, developers and public testers. It can be downloaded from the Apple Developer account or over-the-air.
The YouTube app for iOS has been updated and the update fixed the drastic battery drain. iPhone’s battery has been drained significantly not only while watching videos, but also when YouTube app has been working in the background.
The report from TechCrunch tells that Apple has obtained the company Vrvana that works on AR headsets. Apple paid around $30 million for the startup. The headset is called Totem.
So far there is no information about the next generation of iPhone X nor of iPhone SE, but the German-based magazine Curved has imagined how these models can look like in 2018. Curved represents new models as “iPhone XS”, “iPhone X” and “iPhone XL”.
The recent issue has been reported by several iPhone X owners, the device’s screen shows green lines. The issue is reproducing on models of different color and with different storage options.
So far there were about 25 cases with green lines on the display. This has been reported by users on different resources, including Apple Support communities, Reddit, Facebook, Twitter and MacRumors forum. The number of defective devices is growing, but still not statistically significant.
The demand for iPhone 8 and 8 Plus has not been very strong and this has been confirmed by the recent report by the research firm Canalys. Canalys gathered and analyzed the shipments results and said that iPhone 7 has outsold both iPhone 8 and 8 Plus combined.
Not surprisingly, the all-screen iPhone X is the easiest to break. SquareTrade, the company that provides the extended warranties for electronic devices, has conducted crash tests for iPhone X and confirmed this probably obvious fact. The reason is probably the absence of bezels and the glass back.
The investment firm Piper Jaffray held a survey showing why the retention level of Apple customers is so high.
47 percent of iPhone users already updated to iOS 11. This number is only 1 percent less than current iOS 10 adoption.
CNBC surveyed 800 people in different regions of US and it appears that 64% of these people have one Apple product at a minimum.
There were three more cases of swollen batteries of iPhone 8 that cracked the devices. Earlier Apple claimed that the case is already being investigated.
