Patent: VideoChat for iPhone

Since the iPhone's launch, the lack of video capabilities on the handset has been a major complaint among customers.The , that Apple was given several days ago, shows company's plans to introduce video conferencing to future generations of the popular handset. Apple devotes a paragraph to explaining how video conferencing would work. Lens that can be rotated backward or forward, coupled with the touchscreen as a viewfinder.
MID device: another iPhone killer?

Intel showed off a prototype handheld based on Moorestown, its upcoming Mobile Internet Device (MID) platform designed to enable a new generation of ultra-thin, touchscreen devices with extensive battery life.
Moorestown will consist of a system-on-a-chip (SOC), codenamed "Lincroft," which integrates a 45nm processor, graphics, memory controller and video encode/decode onto a single part. The platform will support a range of wireless technologies including 3G, WiMAX, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth and mobile TV.
The divice will be avaliable sometime in the 2009-2010 time. Here is a video with presentation from IDF:
Swype: text input from the inventor of T9

Everyone who has owned a cellphone over the last 10 years should at some point pour one out in thanks to Cliff Kushler, one of the inventors of the T9 text entry system. Now Cliff is smartly shifting his focus on touchscreens with Swype—a way to type blindingly fast on a touchscreen by tracing your finger or stylus over the letters you want without lifting up, connect-the-dots style.
