Jony Ive Officially Becomes Apple’s Chief Design Officer
Jony Ive has finally become Apple’s Chief Design Officer. His profile on Apple’s official website has been updated recently to reflect his new post. Apart from Ive, two other company executives have been promoted. These are Alan Dye who is now Apple’s Vice President of User Interface Design and Richard Howarth, the chief of Industrial Design department. As you might have guessed, Dye will be responsible for the software and its look and Howarth will focus on the hardware.
Some Apple Services May Be Temporarily Unreachable
According to Apple, some services may be currently unavailable for some users. These services include iMessage, iWork for iCloud, iCloud Drive, My Photo Stream, Backup & Restore, iPhoto Journals, Mail Drop and iMovie Theater. Problems begun to occur this morning, however, only a small percentage of users may face troubles in using the aforementioned services. If you one of these users, the only solution is to wait. The guys from Cupertino are aware of the issue and will fix the problem as soon as possible.
Next-Gen iPhone to Feature New Qualcomm LTE Chip
As you already know, the next-generation iPhone will look nearly identical to the current iPhone 6. However, as shown on the images that appeared on the Internet earlier this week, Apple’s handset will boast of a brand new LTE chip manufactured by Qualcomm. This chip will reportedly support faster LTE speeds (up to 300 Mbps) and be more energy efficient. Together with the upcoming iOS 9, this may lead to a substantial increase in battery life of the iPhone 6s.
